I think because of Jughead. He did make a promise to Jughead, that he would bring Gladys&JB home and reunite the Jones family. Both Betty&Jughead wants to reunite their families, but sadly it's not meant to be.

I agree. I think he just felt guilty. But to be honest its fairly easy to forget that he's still married to Jughead's mother. And, he's also in a slightly different position than Alice. He's trying to make up for a lot of mistakes with Jughead and his family - also he has a younger child that it might be harder on.

Yep. Speaking of Gladys. I wonder how Alice would react if/when Gladys returns? Plus I'm hoping Gladys is the villain for S3. I mean we had Fathers vs Sons, Fathers vs Daughters, Mothers vs Daughters, but not Mothers vs Sons. Oh and having a female be the villain would be refreshing as well.

To Dragonfire:

I don't know if Gladys will be the villain. That might be pretty hard on Jughead. Penelope does a pretty good job as a female villain and I don't think we've seen the last of Penny Peabody, so I think we're covered for female villains. It might just be refreshing for a couple just to acknowledge that they simply don't work together anymore - which I assume Fred and Mary did?

Right. It seems in an interview Skeet said something about after FP let Alice in his trailer, while FP's gut was telling him to steer clear, his heart was telling him something else, and his heart probably won out. So maybe that explains him being super hot and cold.
