I feel like it was never really a truce
Hiram was probably planning this.Archie just didn't know. And got a little bit of a break with the Hiram things.. even though it didn't last that long. I wonder how long it'll be before he finds out. Probably not much longer? __________________

He probably was, and you know what he could do? Wait until Varchie are happily reunited to spill the beans to Veronica about Archie was at first gonna kill him before he saved him. Also to make it sting more have Archie admit it to Veronica's face.

But it is the truth.. since Archie was going to do that. I honestly think he should've admitted it earlier, so she'd have more time to get past it. __________________

Maybe they didn't want Archie revealing that to her earlier cause they wanted to save it for the proper moment. Same with Hiram going back to his villainous ways.
