Thanks for the thread!

I think I enjoyed this ep more than the previous two. Not that that’s saying much, given how bored I was by them.

Likes:
- “I self-identify as a loner.” Uttered in all seriousness at that. My cringey, pretentious son is back! I missed him.
- Cheryl. No sl for her this ep but she’s awesome even just standing there, looking pretty and gloating while ppl are arguing.
- The new girl (Toni?) is also pretty and I look forward to seeing more of her.
- Kevin coming to his senses. I agree that Betty had absolutely no right to imply his hookups are disgusting. But he was acting like a slasher character, running into obvious danger (which was appropriate for the larger slasher plot of the episode/season, I guess).
- The Kevin/Moose scene was kinda emotional.
- The Lodges have a nice chandelier. I love chandeliers.

Mehs and dislikes:
- How dumb is Archie? Buying guns, forming teen vigilante armies and listening to Hiram. And we’re only 3 eps in. Also, what is the school principle smoking to think that a teen vigilante army is a good idea? But at least that final scene with the Red Circle’s macho posturing made me laugh. Their stupidity (well-intentioned stupidity that did help someone this ep, but still stupidity) is bound to backfire at some point.
- The Lodges seem to have taken Blossoms’ place as the campy villainous family this season. Poor Veronica and poor Hermione’s characterization. But I guess there might be comedy potential in this sl too. I did find the Blossoms entertaining.
- Jug’s new school continues to be so cliché and OTT. All down to the students’ uniform fashion sense (on the plus side, their whole flannel-denim-and-leather thing is at least easy on the eyes).
- No Josie.
- No Cheryl/Josie.
- No Betty/Veronica, save for the cute little scene at the beginning.

I'm not sure how I felt about this episode, there was something really off about it. I'm glad everyone now knows all the murders are connected, but the whole red circle thing feels kinda cheesey, that scene at the end "we will find you, will we hunt you and we will end you" was like a rip off from the movie Taken, I was cringing.

And I agree with how dumb Archie was acting this episode. Hiram got in his head so easy, he says one thing and Archie just falls into his trap. I was really starting to enjoy Archie again and then they ruin his character.

Also, the whole Lodge family dynamic makes me feel so uncomfortable, Hiram treats Hermione like crap, then Hermione treats V like crap, the whole thing is messed up, why do all the parents in this show have to be villainized? They really have set back Hermione's character development. Who would have thought we'd see the day when Alice sets the curb on parenting? I still think she's great.

I like Toni

Still not enough Beronica, did the show forget that they are BEST FRIENDS? they're supposed to be the most important friendship and they never get scenes together, it really bothers me.

I'm glad they're giving Kevin a deeper sl and some character development, but at the same time, I didn't really get it? and him and Betty falling out that quickly seemed really odd.

Really liked the episode.
Loved the focus on Kevin...give him a.bettet storyline than your gay best friend with the quip comments. Its nice to show his struggles as the "only" gay gut in town... loved his talk wkth his dad... for a minute i thought sheriff keller was going to hit him but so happy that he was only looking out for him... sorta sad... i wad relieved moose talked to him although the whole talk was sad...
Archie is getting cooler and i actually like his revenge seeking ways but the whole red circle thing was a bit laughable... and why is no one stopping him?!
And really, doesnt anyone think that sheriff keller missed his ca as sheriff!
The lodges are just confusing me. They are all scheming agajnst the other and i just dont know who is worse...
I like toni so far.. she seems alright .
Reggie 2.0. Sneaky little bastard... dont lime him that much...
I think from next weeks episode someone took bettys speech to heart...
Quite intrigued now ...
The drugs, the gangs, the vigilantes... nice mix.

I really loved this episode too. This season is definitely working for me. I find it a lot scarier and more interesting.

Hiram is really making his presence known on the show. That is one scary dude. I am not sure what his agenda with Archie is though and why he was manipulating him to act out this way. Does he want him to get hurt and therefor get him away from Veronica? I'd like to believe that Hermione has an agenda somehow. Like, pretending to be on Hiram's side in order to protect her family because she knows that if she were to go against him it wouldnt go well for anyone? IDK. But it doesnt explain her cold demeanor to Veronica and her little digs at her. Calling her thirsty? Making her feel bad for not being involved more with her father? Just felt like too much.

Veronica on the other hand is acting a bit strange to me. I know on some level she wants her daddy's approval but I thought she saw last episode how manipulative he is so I believe she is being pretty naive to the situation. Why want Archie to come over so badly? Why want to be part of the company more? I just dont want her to go down a bad path later on.

The whole Red Circle storyline with Archie is a bit cheesy. I do prefer this storyline to anything he had last season but he's going down a dangerous path for sure. But this whole vigilante storyline has been done so many times. So I hope theres a more interesting outcome. His little line about the gang being the ones to solve Jason's murder was pretty funny. I did like when he went and saved Ethel. Reggie is also pretty humorous.

Veronica and Archie moments were great this episode. I love that V didnt take no for an answer with Archie for coming to dinner. And I like that she knows about his little red circle and he's not keeping it from her. Loved the quotes about him being special to her. Hiram offering him rum was a bit weird though.

I liked seeing Jughead in a new atmosphere. I love that Jughead doesnt go to Riverdale Hight anymore and yet he is still there with the gang lol. Toni seems okay. I like that she stood up for Jughead. But its obvious she is gone develop feelings later on. Jughead being beat up was sad so i understand why he wanted to join the serpents at the end, but i have bad feelings over this storyline. We'll see where it goes. Jingle jangle is dumb too but at least Jughead laughed about it.

The Betty/Jughead makeout was HOT but I hope that they take it to the next level soon and that it's addressed. I didnt like when Toni interrupted, i think its a bad sign.

Loved this episode for Kevin and the hug with the sheriff was so sweet and the conversation. I like that they are giving attention to the Kevin and Betty friendship but this storyline seems weird to me. Is this something gay men actually do? Roam the woods at night? HUH? lol... We also find out that Kevin used to be overweight. Thanks to Cheryl, who was pretty useless this episode.

I hope they address the Betty stuff because Kevin played it off as her just having a kink but I think its deeper than that. I also want more Betty/Veronica moments damnit!

MOOSE IS ALIVE! The Moose and Kevin scene was great. “Guys like us.” So is that basically Moose saying he is gay? The scene was a bit cheesey but it's nice that he understood Kevin. I want more for those two.

Glad that Polly wants to leave, she is boring.

The letter from the hood was strange. What did Fred do that was bad? Adultery? And now he's gonna target Betty?

Good episode.

I am really liking Hiram. I am glad they brought this character this season. He was probably my favorite part in this episode. He is so mysterious and scary and I'm like what's up with you!?

I am not liking this whole Red Circle thing with Archie. I understand kids wanting to protect and all, but IDK, I just don't like that storyline for him.

I want more Archie/Reggie moments.

I was also not a fan of Kevin this episode for some reasons. I want him to get more attention on the show, but not like this. He was annoying. And now he won't even speak to Betty. NO. They need to stay besties.

This. I know he didn't like that Betty went to his dad, but still..

Why does Cheryl keep having useless scenes!? Urgh. She needs more. I want more.

I really thought Moose was dead. PHEW! They can't start killing kids.

I enjoyed the Bughead scenes.

Toni: I like her!

I'm sad that Veronica/Hermione don't get along this season.

I thought this episode had a lot of odd parts, but I do like how much there is going on!

While I find Hiram to be very interesting in how mysterious he is, I'm getting more and more nervous for Hermione (even though I'm not a huge fan of her). I want to go out on a limb and say their relationship is... possibly abusive?? (too much?) But I obviously don't know enough about whats going on behind the scenes to decide this.

Hermione really confused me in this episode. Going behind Hiram's back to tell Veronica to watch out (which obviously didn't work out well for her) but then making those rude little comments (the whole rum room one at dinner really creeped me out)? What's her agenda??

I did like how it showed Kevin's dad being more accepting of his son - I was really worried it was going to turn into the 'dad in high ranking community position disapproving of child's sexuality' trope. Plus, like others said, I liked how his 'troubles' shone a bit more in this episode, vs. just being the 'gay best friend'. I wonder how much this idea will feature in upcoming episodes though.

I completely forgot about Polly. Kind of surprised they throw her in this episode just to have her leave immediately. She got almost no air time this season (so far).

I feel like the Jughead in bad environment/Betty worrying/Rebellious new girl infiltrating story line will get boring. I'm not sure what they will do with this.

Like another person said - I liked the part where Archie saved Ethyl! Even though she's such a minor character, she didn't deserve to die, she's just too sweet.

Moose and Midge survived. I guess the gun man didn't hit any vital organs.

I liked that Betty was trying to help Kevin, but he didn't like her interfering into his very secretive activities. He'll learn the hard way I'm sure. He's old enough to make his own decisions and live with the consequences that will surely follow. Didn't care for the way he treated Betty so coldly. However, I did enjoy the scenes he shared with Moose in the hospital.

Like that Fred is unafraid. He isn't hiding. He always gives Archie good sounding advice. Too bad Archie already has a gun in the house. Although, Archie seems more alert.

Hiram don't care for Archie one bit. I mean Archie is the only one that noticed Hiram took his sweet time shaking his hand. However, he doesn't seem to have an issue with Jughead or Betty. He's very charismatic and easy at manipulating people. I mean encouraging them(mainly Archie )to take the situation in their own hands. Unbelievable. Hiram is living up to his name. This guy is no joke.
He's dangerous. He's protective of Veronica. She's his weakness.
He threatened Hermione and Archie both when it came to Veronica.
I don't trust him, but I love the way his character is being written. God help the person or people who do Veronica harm.

Love seeing a lot of Reggie. I feel like we our starting to know more about him, his personality.

SouthSide High school looks terrible, especially the chance. I would hate to go to a school like that.

Hermione is a piece of work. I'm not here for her behavior, particularly how she's being with Veronica. She need to stop talking in code and tell Veronica the truth about Hiram's intentions.

Loved the speech Archie gave to members of the football team. The Red Circle has a nice ring to it. I think their mission/ what they stand for can benefit others.

The killer is one sick puppy, sending Alice Fred's wallet and Miss Grundy's Lolita glasses. I have to say I love the reasons behind the killer's action. Thank you Alice for defying useless Sheriff Keller. I don't like him or Mayor McCoy.

For once I liked the principal in this episode. He didn't allow the Sheriff Keller to have a say in what clubs could* be formed on school grounds.

Jughead is making his mark on SouthSide High so far. He wants to reopen the school's newspaper. I like his interactions with Toni Topaz. She seems cool. Too bad Jug fail to listen about being on his own and got jumped.

Cheryl was just there. We really didn't need her in the episode.

Polly made an appearance.

I feel like Veronica don't fully trust her father even though she's a daddy's girl through and through. I like it.

No Joise, but loads of Reggie and Kevin.

What an eerie scene when Hiram told Hermione not to poison Veronica against him.

I really loved this episode! Yep, Archie got himself played by Hiram. Hiram will do anything to get Archie out of his daughter's life.

Okay first the shooter is like the worst shooter in the world. Who can't kill someone you doesn't see you coming and at close range? Riverdale may be safer than we thought .
Now Veronica is on her dad's side and her mother isn't? Hopefully V has a plan.

I am suspicious of Toni .

Alice should be the new police chief, she is better at the job than the real one.

What was with Midge's hair? I am still wondering about that.

Archie is starting a good squad? This ends well.

This was episode was alright and did feel off. Omg its sucks that Hermione is so rude to Veronica now. I liked how close they were in s1. Oh dn Hiram is intense and up too no good with the town and Archie.

The Red Circle is cheesy. Well see how this turns out for Archie and good to see Fred is doing alright too.

We needed more Cheryl this episode and the nee Reggie is alright so far.

Glad Polly is gone she is super boring.

I like Toni so far. I see Toni coming between Betty and Jughead later this season. Veronica and Archie were cute together.

I liked Kevin hugging his dad. Looks Betty and Kevin are on the outs now too.

Does anyone get a weird vibe from Mr. Cooper? Like, he has the same stature as the shooter. And he's been in every scene but just kinda standing around in the background. I think the actor has blue eyes but the killer could be wearing contacts?

I was thinking that Alexa, but would they do two killer dads? I don't know.
