Ted Allen Appreciation - he can cook! What more do you need?

I LOVE a guy who can cook, and Ted really does it for me. Plus, he's the goofiest of the Fab 5, so I have a special place in my heart for him.

I know a few people on this board have bought his books - the ones for Esquire - and liked them. But most importantly, Ted teaches the men on the show to cook, and I can't stand a man who doesn't know his way around a kitchen (all my boyfriends have been fabulous cooks, even if they didn't know how to drive or put a nail in the wall!).

So, let's all honor Mr. Ted, shall we?

Oh Teddy Allen, thank you for explaining Creme Fraiche, Beluga, Melba Toasts, Lemon Drop Martinis, Methode Champagnoise and the difference between Basil and Tarragon to poor deluded straight males.

I like Ted, he's understated and often gets overshadowed by Carson and Thom's antics, but his sardonic wit is always entertaining!

For this and so much more, Ted Allen Sir, I salute you.

Yeah, he does get sort of lost - but then, I think he has a quieter personality. And I love the fact that the other boys can tease him - he's like their older brother. SO cute!

And I agree - he makes complicated dishes seem simple - makes them accessible to everyone, not just straight guys.

Where are all the other Ted lovers?

Wasn't it cute when Warren L tjuszed his own crackers? Ted must have been so proud, he didnt even need to demonstrate how to do it! Such a pity when Warren lost half the platter back stage tho.....

I hope so! People should come and play with us - I mean, we know we love Ted. There's no question about that, he just doesn't get the funny lines, poor kid!

I Love my Ted!!!! Such a sweetie! He can cook, he usually gets the best hip tip things at the end, and he is hilarious when he first walks into the straight man's kitchen. Every Single Time. He has some great lines sometimes too.

I agree - I think he's really funny and totally adorable.

Ya know what I love about Ted? I love how he takes each straight guy to some little grocery or food store and introduces him to the owner, and encourages them to ask questions about what they are buying. He knows all these little cool boutique places to go to, and inspired the straight guys to prepare something they wouldnt usually cook.

sarzy - I totally agree. And it's cool because he supports little local places instead of the big conglomerates (except for last night when he went to COSTCO, but that's okay, it's Jersey! [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img]).

The introduction is so great - the other boys don't really do that consistently, except for Kyan (who does it all the time, too).
