When I had my big presentation the other week, All I did was just rehearse it enough to know what I was talking about but not memorize it because if you memorize it and mess up you tend to start from the beginning and that's bad.
If you have power point slides behind you make sure that they just have bullet points and not sentences because if you forget something and then look at the bullet point you tend to come up with something to say. And just reading from slides is bad. Hope some of this helps. Nicole |

You'll be fine Tina Also when you're presenting you'll get into this groove and all of a sudden the presentation is over.
With my presentation, I was a little freaked beforehand and then I presented and it seemed like time flew, and then after it was all over with I just started to cry. It was like I was in this zone where nothing could get me and then as soon as I left the room where I presented I was back on earth and all the emotion came over me. Just keep going over it and you'll do great. Also another stress releiver is those little stress balls that you squeeze. When you are going over the presentation, you could squeeze it and then your attention won't be totally focused on the presentation. (This is just for rehearsal ) Also make sure you have cough drops with you, unwrapped, cause if you start to cough you can just pop one in and not fumble with wrappers or anything. And they are great to have around just because there could be a chance that your mouth will go dry. Nicole |

Oooh! Thanks for the tips, Nicole. I pratice twice w/ my family and everytime I hit 10 minutes. And that's a good thing because the presentation has to be 10 to 20 minutes. What scares me is that for every minute you are under or over, you lose 5 points... and that is A LOT!
Thanks, Susan. |

Also another tip, make sure in your mind you have more information then you can present on. Cause no matter what on Presentation day you'll tend to talk faster, so if you are just at 10 minutes now see if you can have information in the back of your head that could take you to 11 minutes then that way when you are actually presenting you'll have 10 minutes of material.

Thanks, Nicole! You're so helpful.
I've four pages worth of information that I am going to present... and as you said, I've already got information in the back of my mind... i just hope i don't lose it all! Thanks, Susan. |
