I don't really pay attention to the actors but i did like dan in the later seasons. I had always hated him. It's not obvious that he was such an ass to everyone.

Dan was a character that was really hard to like. Paul's compassion for people is what made Dan redeemable at times

In the first few seasons, he was the one I hated the most. But later he was one of the characters, which I really liked. I think without the character of Dan, the show won't be the same. His evil side was brilliant, and Paul was a great actor, he gave the character Dan something special. Couldn't imagine the show without him.
