Felt like there was finally a real struggle.

I kinda think s2 was worse for them, tbh. It was worse for everyone

Don't get me wrong, I love angst but that was on another level.

A lot of LP fans didn't like S2 because of Jake but I liked Jake!

It was heavy, but it was a grown up issue, in terms of the whole proposal element.

Jake was just there for me. He was so boring.

I just couldn't get behind Lucas not knowing what he wanted. That part made him seem very immature.

I think Jake was exactly what Peyton needed tbh. I loved that they had a thing in S3 as well. I accepted that she may not end up with Lucas.

He knew what he wanted, he was just scared of wanting it.

He was a good guy, but so so boring. Also a terrible father, in part because of how quickly he let Peyton into Jenny's life.

She was always going to end up with Lucas. Don't think there was ever any doubt there, it was obvious from the pilot.

Ok in that sense, yes. But I'm referring to how adamant he was about loving Lindsey. Like, sure, deep down that wasn't truly the case, But I HATED how she had to be the one to help him realize it.

I don't wanna go too much into Jake but I don't think him allowing Peyton around Jenny made him a bad father. Nikki basically abandoned her.

I had doubts for sure especially with some of the terrible writing we had to put up with. Lucas slept with Nikki and Peyton called him a horrible friend. Like, where do I even start with that whole ass mess?

I actually do believe he loved Lindsey, just not in the way he believed he did, which was what made it so much easier for him to run from what he truly wanted.

That wasn't the only thing, but he allowed Peyton into her life way too soon when she herself was not stable, and outside of that, Jenny was a weapon to him. He can't claim it's about her and then send her off with someone she barely knows in an attempt to hide her. That's not about Jenny, that's about him.

I never did. Always thought it was clear from the pilot. Obstacles never really changed that.

That's what I mean though. It was so sloppy in how he claimed to love Lindsey, was about to marry her, ACTUALLY SAID I DO, and then he's asking Peyton to marry him a few episodes later.

Peyton was a hot mess for sure, especially when she tried to marry the dude later on.

I wish I had that kind of faith.

NEGL I thought he would even end up with Brooke.

Oh yeah, that was dumb. They turned Lindsey into a doormat and I hated that. She knew how he felt before he accepted it and I despised that they had her sacrifice her self-respect and stay with him. He was doing everything he could to run from his feelings, so I'm not surprised he would go that far, it's just kind of insulting that Lindsey wouldn't put a stop to it.

Yep, she was a mess, and he knew that. He was irresponsible.

I thought it was always obvious he wouldn't. That relationship never had any depth, it was kind of always superficial, which made it pretty clear it wouldn't last.

Tbh, I always thought the whole proposal mess in S5 was OOC for everyone.

Because they were together in real life, not because it made sense.
