I mean Alexis and Alyson were together when Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel were airing, but I DID NOT see a scene of them kissing. Just because two famous people are dating offscreen does NOT mean that they have to be together onscreen.

It's so we don't get to hear a whiney Brooke. Brooke shouldn't have gotten back with Lucas regardless. She should've demanded a strict friendship between them, and follow her intuition.
