How long did you try to like them?

Most of season 1, iirc. Even though the first thing I ever said to my friend about them is that they weren't written as endgame. Gave up trying towards the end of the first season and just focused all my shipping energy on Naley, who I did love from the beginning.

Yeah, I don't get why people see endgame when it comes to BL.

It was just never there. Totally was with Naley though, and I thought LP was obvious from the pilot even when I didn't ship them.

I can see why ppl would think BL stood a chance in s2 and maybe even parts of s3. But at the same time, when a ship is retconned from an obvious temporary obstacle to the show otp in between seasons just because the actors are dating off screen, it shouldn't come as a huge surprise if the writers do another 180. s2 showed Mark&co had no qualms with dropping previously central relationships and rewritting history.
