It wouldn't have surprised me at all if in s5/6 Peyton had mentioned something about keeping in touch with Jake. They cared about each other a lot & I don't think she'd be able to stand not knowing that they were ok

I think so too, or I want to believe it. It's just too bad they never bothered to show this on screen. Though I can sorta understand it, people would immediately start speculation about Jake and him possibly coming back. Unnecessary speculation if writers knew for sure Bryan wouldn't be back.

Very true, I know that if they hadn't mentioned what Jake was up to I would have assumed they were building up to bringing him back in some capacity

I remember some speculations about Schwahn asking Bryan during S5? Ah Bryan why you didn't want to come back... unless writers told you why they wanted you back and you understood it would be a complete destroying Jake's character and JP story then I get it.

But he was probably busy with different show I guess..

I remember that too, I'm pretty sure Mark would have had him if he could, he loved Bryan

But it wouldn't surprise me if they were going to screw over Jake's character, so if that was the case I'm glad he didn't come back!

How do you know he loved Bryan? Maybe it's silly question, but I wasn't around OTH world for the most part (mostly since S8 only).

I think they hung out a lot, plus Bryan hung out with Lee a lot too - he got Lee a small part on October Road - & Mark was good friends with Lee, so I just put the pieces together

Well one of them wasn't cute at all. The rest well, in one season I can only take 10/15 min with kid in it. Jenny could take 70% of this time anytime she wanted.
