So it's just continued to get worse? It was awful in season 7 so I can't even imagine now. Not surprised, though.

Contrived storylines, killing favorite characters, breaking up favorite couples... My reason why I quit is that one of my favorite couples got 'killed'. And an interesting storyline I had followed was cut short. I'm not interested anymore what they do with the characters and the storylines are boring.

Basically, they had the shooting, then it was like the characters, bar one, all became completely different people between the seasons. May as well have been different characters played by the same actors, it was like planet of the pod people. Terrible writing, and I got fed up of making excuses for it.

Okay that sucks. Didn't one of the actress criticize the writing of the show?

Katherine Heigl did at one point. I think she took her name out of emmy consideration because she didn't feel she had been given the material one year to warrant a nomination. The showrunner pretty much lost it and apparently made things difficult for her and a costar she was close with, and they both ended up leaving. Thing is, Heigl was telling the truth, she hadn't been given the material in that season, is she meant to lie and potentially win an award she doesn't deserve?

That was the season after. That godawful mess was her punishment. I guess proof that writers punish actors through trashing their characters.

Some people really liked the Dizzie storyline.

Not me though.
