I'm currently watching OTH for the first time after it being recommended to me for years now.

I'm up to episode 12 and really enjoying it so far.

Brooke is probably my favourite atm. I also really like Jake, Whitey & Keith.

Nathan's kinda 'meh' atm, but I know he gets better.

And Dan is such an ***hole but he makes me laugh at how ridiculous he is

I'm really annoyed because I really like Lucas/Brooke but now Lucas is cheating and it's making me really dislike Lucas.

So far i'm not really a fan of Peyton.. hopefully that will change.

I like Haley! She's cute and super nice.

Fair enough, I never got into Lucas/Brooke due to how little Lucas cared about Brooke and how he was just using to hide behind because he didn't want to get hurt by Peyton again.

Yeah, never liked BL, even with trying to force myself to. He never really cared about her and she basically manipulated the situation to get him, anyway.

S1 Lucas sucks! Lol. But he’s young still, there’s a lot of development that takes place with him and the BL relationship.

Also, I think Lucas always cared for Brooke. His heart wasn’t in the relationship the first time around obviously, but he grew up a lot as a result of that relationship, both in S1 and beyond. The cheating sucked but it was a key part in shaping both of their characters and their relationship throughout the series. I don’t think the gravity of what he did hits him until the end of the season but it’s a real natural and organic progression and continues in S2.

It's just hard because Lucas started off being a really humble dude and you'd think he'd respect women and relationships a lot more considering what Dan put him & Karen through.

Just hoping he has some better growth throughout the show.

yeah it's kind of a reversal in character development if you compare Lucas and Nathan in S1

I wouldn't say Luke's heart was in BL's relationship the second time they dated either considering the way he acted and how he never once showed Brooke that he cared about her insecurities or that their relationship was his top priority. Saying nice things about someone doesn't mean you truly love them or mean your whole heart is in that relationship.

Yeah, it definitely wasn't, she was barely even an afterthought for him from the moment they got back together. Saying nice things is easy, you can do that about someone you hate, so it doesn't mean much.
