Using that logic, you can't question how out of nowhere Luke's feelings for Brooke appeared in S or how Peyton treated Haley at the start of S3.

You can question whether Luke's feelings were valid because he canonically implied later on that he never loved her. You cannot question that he believed he loved her at the time. You cannot question how Peyton treated Haley because we saw it happen, regardless of whether or not it made sense. What happened, happened, that cannot be questioned.

Just because we saw it happen on screen doesn't mean it makes sense and acting like you can't question canon is silly imo, which the whole BL thing in S2 proves.
