I also liked that they stayed together throughout the show when that normally doesn't happen on teen dramas.

It was so refreshing, that NH weren't breaking up and getting back together in circles, like most couples... it was different.

Yeah, exactly. Even though they had their moments their "separations" weren't really break ups completely. The closest we ever got to it was when they separated in S2.

True, NH had a hard time in S2, but they were never truly over. They still loved each other.

I agree. It was nice and refreshing, and it wasn't so frustrating. And the reason they broke up, sort of in season 2, was an important reason. They were at a crossroads at the very early stages of their marriage, and starting to wonder if they had made the right decision, getting married so early, before pursuing their own interests. But, you could tell how much they missed and loved each other regardless.

They did try to sneak in stupid tropes, like Taylor showing up and having her being the one who "deflowered" a freshman Nathan. That was the seedy showrunner seeping through. Ew.

But, I liked that they had a strong relationship overall, because most shows don't have that. So much drama from teen shows in general, is fed by couples breaking up and getting back together and breaking up and getting back together, and it was nice that NH wasn't really about that.
