I think she was in a messy place when started hitting on Nathan. Before the accident she was all into Cooper, and then Nathan saved her and she sorta "transferred" her crazy feelings on him. Later it's was juz to piss people off, including Haley too. What a messy person she was. I think Rachel's the only one who didn't get her redemption and happy ending...? She was fine as a character in S5 with her drug problems and I thought writers might wanna make her a good and happy person, but when she came back in S7 - just unbearable and messy again, even worse than her S3 version.

With what was gong on off screen, it's not a complete surprise what happened when it came to the way Rachel got written.

Ahhh... I didn't know about Danneel. So she wasn't "nice" enough to him, and that's why her character was treated so poorly in S7...?

Basically and she only came back because she knew that having a lot of scenes with Paul would mean Mark wouldn't try anything
