| OTH News Thread: Because without it, we would be up the 'hill' without a paddle! ![]() Latest News: New Season 2 Promo Pictures Cast Promo Picture Newest News From the Futon Critic: Monday, October 11, 2004 - 11:10 AM The WB to Give 'One Tree Hill' a Winter Break By Brian Ford Sullivan LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The WB plans to give "One Tree Hill" a winter break, as the network confirmed today the series will take a brief hiatus following its November 30 broadcast. In its place, the Frog plans to fill the Tuesday, 9:00/8:00c hour with the third season of "High School Reunion" (read the story). "Hill" will then return in time for February sweeps to air the remainder of its second season. The network was also quick to note the decision shouldn't be viewed as a "hiatus" but rather a brief "rest" to avoid the show's low-rated repeats. Overall this season, "Hill" has been a major success for the network as its most recent airing marked its most-watched episode to date in adults 18-34 (3.0/8), persons 12-34 (3.5/10), women 18-34 (4.6/11), women 12-34 (5.2/14), adults 18-49 (2.4/6), women 18-49 (3.6/8) and total viewers (5.4 million). | Hope you all enjoy the new thread! ![]() Bent- I am also curious to see if the "Diaries From the Set" is the same thing as MTV's Diary. I hope so, but I wonder if they would have advertised it as such. __________________ ... and when you find that love, wherever you find it, whoever you choose, don't run away from it. | Three OTH-related things in today's Wilmington Star-News: "One Tree Hill Stars return to football field for charity, fans" Catch a glimpse of One Tree Hill heartthrob Chad Michael Murray, check out some flag football and help raise money for a pair of good causes on Saturday at Ashley Football Stadium. Proceeds from the game, which Mr. Murray and friends organized, go to both the Coastal Pop Warner Foundation, which funds little league football, and Hunter's Hope, started by former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly to find a cure for Krabbe leukodistrophy. Many of the cast members of the locally filmed teen drama will be on hand, as well as Ryan Carnes of "General Hospital". Gates open at noon at Ashley Football Stadium (555 Halyburton Memorial Parkway, off Carolina Beach Road). A little league football game will still be on the field then, but the autograph/meet and greet session runs from 12:30 - 1:30 pm. The OTH cast and crew football game begins about 3 pm. Tickets are available for $10 at the gate (check or cash). Throughout the event, fans can get in on raffles of OTH goodies. __________________ ~Tammy~Be kind. | Also in today's Wilmington Star-News: "Ravens got game" Mr. Murray isn't the only one planning fund-raising games. The Ravens, One Tree Hill's basketball team, which includes star James Lafferty, are playing exhibition games at colleges in North Carolina and Virginia to raise money for the schools. The first game took place at Bluefield College in Virginia. The Ravens bested the Bluefield team 82-47. Games are also planned at Montreat College in Black Mountain, and here at Cape Fear Community College. __________________ ~Tammy~Be kind. | And lastly, in today's Wilmington Star-News: "Off road, on 'OTH'" Singer/songwriter Tyler Hilton was on the road with the Rock the Vote tour when he got the word from One Tree Hill producers. The 20-year-old learned that he got the part of record-store producer on the hit WB series and "we just turned the van around", he said. His character on OTH, whom he describes as cocky and arrogant, has a six-episode arc on the show. (Many of his scenes are filmed in CD Alley, in downtown Wilmington). Before that, Mr. Hilton (no relation to other famous Hiltons) shot the Johnny Cash movie "Walk the Line", with Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon. Mr. Hilton played the young Elvis Presley. It's due in theatres in April. After OTH, though, he hopes to once again concentrate on music. "It'll be nice to get back to it," he said. "I performed solo for six years...So, for me, music is alot more personal. Acting, being in a cast, it's more of a group thing. On "Walk the Line", we were going out every night, hanging out. You have this instant group of friends". __________________ ~Tammy~Be kind. You never know what sorrows and struggles people are hiding behind a brave smile. | |||
