That led into One Tree Hill with 2.82 million viewers and a 1.4/ 3 in the demo, which deserves positive mention for the slight growth out of Gossip Girl.

Slightly (very slightly) higher than last week, but I guess Gossip Girl didn't really make a difference after all. To either OTH or itself. That's kinda disappointing.

Right? It does seem like this particular night or lead-in/lead-out pairing may not be conducive to either show. Something. It seems neither show was really helpful to the other.

I wondered if this might occur given the full history of the show. After being tried in both timeslots, being aired on different nights, and switching up who the show has been paired with, OTH has not typically been the best anchor show for the network, regardless of whether they're in the lead-in or the lead-out position, and Gossip Girl is struggling to find their footing. They really had something working for them earlier in the season and it seems that momentum has been put on hold, at least as far as the last two episodes are concerned. Maybe people are still finding them on Monday.

I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens over the next couple of weeks to see if things hold the same, but! If we use last night as a gage, regardless of how this gets spun in the releases, this isn't a particularly strong showing, well, definitely not for OTH, who had been performing better than this.

Yes bit GG doen't really do that great anyway and the fact that we are up agents DWTS those are not to bad.

Six out of the first twelve episodes this season were around the 2.8 million mark, on average, so it's performing much the same as it did before, I think. But I really thought GG, with the amount of promotion it's had, would do better and help OTH more.

Really? Thanks for that. I should have gone back and looked. I thought it had been performing better than that, as a whole. Yikes. I especially thought this particular showing would place this episode as one of the bottom four(ish) of the season, with another one of those being last week, after the time jump, as well. I know some episodes hovered, but I still thought this was on the low side. Eek, I take that back then. Maybe I should have said, when OTH has shown it's capable of performing better than this, this season. LMFAO.

And, good deal. I totally see where you're coming from. I don't think I've ever really expected GG to be able to help OTH very much. I fully anticipated OTH needing to be the anchor of this evening and help GG, especially when I started to take in to account the history of the shows and their ratings, the amount of sampling one show has had versus the other, the establishment, and just overall general performance with or without promotion. That's why I got nervous for this combo when I saw the numbers for last week. But, you make a really valid point, too. Either way, I'll be interested to see how this pairing progresses together. LOL.

ONE TREE HILL SCORES STRONG WEEKLY GROWTH, WINS THE NIGHT WITH TEENS AND FEMALE TEENS



ONE TREE HILL (1.4/3) was up week-to-week with F12-34 (3.1/8, +7%), Teens (2.2/7, +16%) and Female Teens (3.2/9, +28%). In fact, the veteran drama achieved its best performance since January 8th and its second-highest rating this season-to-date in F12-34. Additionally, ONE TREE HILL ranked #1 in the 9pm hour and for the night overall with Teens and Female Teens. It also placed second in the time slot in W18-34 (3.1/8) and F12-34, finishing among the evening’s top five shows in both demos. Furthermore, ONE TREE HILL held or built on its GOSSIP GIRL lead-in across all key measures.


I'm not always sure I understand what all that means, but it sounds good, especially the part about being #1 in the time slot for teen and female teen groups.
