The growth that you could hear was definitely one of the first things that struck me. I don't know if this is the right word but it's more mature sounding? I think because for me it's got a bit of a different sound from the first, but listening to it again today I can feel it growing on me.

oh def, sunny side up is so much more mature than these streets, which was basically a pop centric album created to be radio friendly... ssu has everything but pop, like it goes from reggae to soul and even bluegrass, which apparently not many find so appealing... i think pn just wanted to make an album he wanted to make and succeeded imo... so reading people say ssu was an ambitious effort, but failed to make as much of an impact as ts is as futile as comparing apples to oranges... they are totally different in every way, but i welcome change so... i think it will grow on you if you give it a chance, which at least you are trying to do!
