May 19, 2008

Brooke (Sophia Bush) deals with giving up her baby, while Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) deals with the residue of his actions following his game night scuffle. Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) has a musical breakthrough and Peyton (Hilarie Burton) gets news about a ghost from her past. Nathan (James Lafferty) and Jamie (guest star Jackson Brundage) face their fears together. Lee Norris and Antwon Tanner also star.

just watched the one. it was a good episode. a lot of music throughout the episode which got a little distracting, but for the most part i really liked it.

it was interesting to see dan not actually kill the reverend and let fate decide what would happen to him. of course him getting hit by the car is classic oth, always have to end the season with dan potentially dying

it was cute to see nathan trying to get back into basketball and jamie conquering his fear of the water. also haley back in music. "feel this" is a great song and i love when it played at the end of the episode.

they plant the seeds of "mick" in this episode which i guess is interesting, though i hated that storyline.

sad to see angie go home and brooke so sad, but the brooke/lucas scenes were really cute. i don't think its believable she's an option for lucas and found that kind of stupid to throw her in there but oh well.

lindsey was actually good this episode, michaela did a nice job with both scenes. i feel kinda bad for lindsey after all of this. but it was obvious that lukes heart was with peyton. i loved seeing nathan and haley both speak to him, especially haley, who clearly could see he was hiding from his feelings for peyton. i love that lucas saw what peyton had written and you could see he was beginning to realize that his feelings for her were not gone, and when he went to see her in her office and said that it was still really hard to see her, that pretty much confirmed that he never got over her.

so happy he called her in the end (even though we don't find this out until 6x01). it was about time!

What I've got to say here is that this finale is the most rushed finale ever, and the most horrible one, at least to me. We had Lucas going over how much he wanted Lindsey to take him back, but in the end he decides to get with Peyton all of a sudden. I expected more build up to that rather than having Lucas telling Peyton that he hates and resents her from coming back and being the root cause of having everything ruined between him&Lindsey. Lucas shouldn't be anyone relationship advice, period, in my view. Meanwhile we see that Brucas supporters are totally getting strung along even though Brooke, herself, had made herself clear that she has grown up from the triangle and should be focusing on herself and her own success, and that she should come along to someone worthy of her affections. The Brucas teasers are unnecessary, at least to me. I know that one of the reasons why he got with Lindsey was because he was so hungover and distraught over Peyton, but what we get in the previous episode only to know that the person he called up to meet him at the airport was Peyton.

All I can say is that the writers of this show needed a lesson on how to write regarding pace. I mean not to go so slow on it while not going so fast.

I feel like Sean Hannity on Fox News criticizing the Biden regime by the way I criticizing this horrible finale.
