What I find to be especially unfortunate is that from all I have read about this seasons finale, we will remain NP-less forever.

The only way we'd get a scene is if HB came back as a guest next season and they had one, which is unlikely on so many levels.

I don't know why the magic of their friendship has been grossly overlooked. There has been so much random pairing going on this season yet not once has NP come on the screen and dazzled with that fire and that energy that the connection between them brings. Like the last time they were together, and Peyton all but dared Nathan to stop feeling sorry for himself and walk again. To take his chance. No one else could say it to him like she did. No one else would. That's her good friend Nathan, who she lives, and she would have done anything, including potentially burning a bridge, just to get him to a place where he could be happy again.

Peyton took a chance and that what NP was always about...taking a chance on each other. When they first go together (before any of us ever knew them), when they were together but fizzled out, when they became friends again in S1, the BT auction, and again in S2...they were always just putting themselves out their to one another, trying and hoping that some good would come of it. And some did. To have that reduced to nothing isn't only infuriating for a fan but also wasteful on the part of the writers and producers and it seems to undermine the whole idea of OTH.

And on and on I could go...

It's such a shame. And it seems so pointless to even have had those scenes in previous scenes only to be jilted almost all of season five and all of season six. *sigh*

After almost 2 full seasons without a seen, the one S5 we did get feels a little cheap. Like that one scene was the TPTB way of saying, "We'll give them a scene, even though we really don't have to, and they should be satisfied until the end of things b/c NP aren't a 'main' pairing." Like we were lucky to get any NP after S4 at all.

Or maybe I'm just crazy and bitter and looking for a reason to be a little annoyed?

I am still holding hope for the impossibility that Hil will make a guest appearance next season and we'll get some NP love that way.

It's a billion to one but...it's better than nothing, I suppose.

I am trying to think about something productive to talk about, seeing as we can't complain about not getting a scene anymore. I mean, we could but it wouldn't do much good.

It's hard to discuss something when there isn't anything.
