The problem is that they basically rewrote why he came back in the later season 6 episodes and they wouldn't have done that if Brulian was the original plan.

I didn't think considering he went from being upset about Peyton being pregnant to being in love with Brooke in an few episodes.

He was pretty much already interested in Brooke by then, and they pretty much implied he wasn't upset about her being pregnant, just found it weird, which it would be for anyone.

Seemed more upset then an normal ex imo. Plus Mark wouldn't have deliberately bought Brooke together with Peyton's ex considering how much he loved her character.

He definitely wanted to get closer to Sophia, but I doubt he knew anything would happen on screen between Brulian when he first signed up.
