It's even worse when it seems the OOC writing for an character seems to be influenced what was going on off screen at the point.

S2 Lucas wasn't ridiculous unlikable though and it's pretty obvious that by season 5/6 that Mark's feelings on Chad was affecting the way that Lucas was getting written.

I thought so, since Lucas was so badly written that season and than they basically ignored the whole thing at the start of S6.

Now back to Haley and Chris, I really wish we could have gotten more scenes of them in tour and see Haley's inner struggle as a character.

Because when I watched season 2, it felt like they were quietly trying to write her off the series.
