Is it just me or have the writers switched Lucus and Nathans personalitys? I mean in the beginning Nathan was the sleazy conceited minipulater who obviously cheated on Peyton once or twice and Lucus was the sweet sensitive loyal supportive best friend boyfriend guy now Nathan is Mr. Loyal Boyfriend and Lucus is sleazy cheater all in less than a season what happened?

I know right!...i agree!...i dunno what happened?!..it's just for the sake of drama, i guess..more storylines!..but i wish lucas would go back to his old ways..nathan can stay like that..i like the fact that he's nice now!

It was never proven that Nathan cheated on Peyton. He just wasn't into her anymore in the romantic aspect of their relationship..

But yes, Lucas is a slimeball now. I always loved Nathan from the start, and I think that bad boy quality is still in him, but Haley brings out the best in him. He keeps the bad boy thing under control when he's around her. But who knows what would happen if he was egged on by somebody else. Things could get messy!!!

I think that Lucas and Nathan really had a personality switch because Nathan is being all nice to everyone and Lucas is being crazier than usuall.

i don't know if it's a complete "switch", but they've both changed into new personalities that at first they'd never dream of having. nathan was humbled because of haley, and lucas has become a wild man ho because his sudden chance at popularity. i guess it could be a switch, but lucas isn't as bad now as nathan was back then, and nathan will always have some jerkiness to his personality which lucas really didn't have any of in the beginning.

about nathan cheating on peyton, i don't think he cheated, and that kiss on the bus, he didn't expect it at all, that ho just kinda threw herself on him after he gave a half hearted answer to tell where peyton was.

Actually no one really remembers this but he did kiss another girl in the Pilot episode while he was driving the van. and he was kinda laughing and it looked casual so it just seemed like he had no problem cheating on peyton.

But yeah i think they've def switched place. no exactly switches personality but Nathan is the more liked one and Lucas is not which is pretty deifferent to the first few eps when Nathan was the "bad guy" and lucas was the "good guy"

Just as Nathan said in Hanging by a Moment, he said its ironic how Lucas is the jerk now..but its true...an di think that if Lucas would have remained the person he was better i would like him better now

1) Nathan kissed a girl one time when they were all drunk and Peyton wasn't there. He did NOT repeatedly kiss on Brooke (i.e. Peyton's best friend) and then break up with Peyton for Brooke. Which is what Lucas did, only in reverse.

2) The only explanation I could come up with was Peyton. In the beginning Nathan was with Peyton, and he was a jerk. Now Lucas is "so in love with Peyton" [img]smilies/rolleyes.gif[/img] and look what he's doing. I think if they both got away from Peyton, they'd both be fine. Unintentionally or not, she's a bad influence on both Scott brothers.

I think that Lucas is worse than Nathan was simply because he doesn't think what he is doing is wrong. He's not proud of it, but at the same time, he thinks his 'complicated situation' makes it okay.

Nathan was just a jerk. He didn't posture or claim to be anything but that.

And I don't think they have switched in anything except labels. 'protagonist' and 'antagonist'

Nathan never cheated in the way Lucas did. i.e. premeditated pursuit of his girlfriend's best friend. And when the girl kissed him, he seemed mostly amused by it. He didn't have enough respect or feeling for Peyton to care if she would be hurt, really. Didn't even think of it.

Lucas, on the other hand, knew that it would hurt Brooke and pursued Peyton anyway. He felt guilty and still did it. I don't think that makes him better, though, it makes him worse.

On the other end, Nathan doesn't reflect how Lucas was at the beginning personality wise. Yes, he is nicer and seems really into Haley, but he doesn't have the good guy complex that Lucas had.

So, yes, they've switched, but not really in personality.

Along the same lines of what superscar said, Nathan was concious of his wrong doing and he struggled with it. Several times the need to do all the bull**** started to fade in him and daddy dearest was right there to keep it alive. Lucas doesn't seem to think that he's doing anything wrong. Or else he just dosn't care.

I definitely think Lucas now is a lot worse than Nathan in the beginning. Nathan had issues, he wanted to change, there was just no catalyst for him to do that until Haley. Lucas has no excuses for his behavior other than "it's complicated". Except, ya know, it's not. We also saw Nathan try to make up for his poor behavior after he started changing, like when he reached out to Peyton and stopped picking on Lucas in "Life in a Glass House". We haven't seen Lucas change back to being a good guy yet but so far I haven't seen any remorse from him about the way he's been acting. He would have continued on with the way things were if Peyton hadn't put a stop to it. He didn't even tell Brooke the truth. What did he think was supposed to happen? He's gonna be with Peyton and Brooke should just find out on her own when they walked into school holding hands?

The difference between Nathan and Lucas is that Nathan wanted to change, tried to change, and did change. He could still go back to acting the way before, and he may have before, but he has at least changed and seemed to regret how he's acted before.

Lucas, even when others have pointed out his faults, has shown no remorse, and he doesn't seem to think there's anything wrong with his behavior. He hasn't made any effort to change. If he had, I think we would've seen him be affected by what Haley said or at least apologized for everything he said to her, or he would've at least been honest with Brooke.

I agree with that Nathan wanted to change. He needed the change, because of his father.

Lucas had no reason to change. His life was going great, he had no reason to turn into Mr. Jack Ass.

As for Nathan...i hope he stays that way...as long as she's nice to Haley, he's ok

I remember that, but Nathan didn't exactly cheat. That girl sprung that kiss on him. She asked where Peyton was, and he said I don't know, then she just kissed him unexpectedly. I wouldn't really call that cheating in a sense. It was more that he got caught off gaurd.
