It's a beautiful scene. Love that he holds her hand pretty much throughout it. Such a small thing, but it means so much. And I love that when she was feeling abandoned and lonely she went to him

Even though he was in denial about his feelings for her, he never failed to be there for her during the Psycho Derek stuff. And like Colleen said, he looked at her in such a special and protective and loving way. It was there in every look and touch in scenes like that.

It's kind of beautiful that even when he wasn't openly acknowledging his feelings for her, they still came through in other ways.

Lucas wasn't very good at denying how he felt. He tried but wasn't good at it.

I think Chad was just really invested in LP and their story. Sometimes he seemed bored in certain scenes but that was never so in LP ones. His eyes would just light up when he was in scenes with Hil.

It was definitely in the writing too but CH really sold LP in s2 and s3, when they weren't getting a lot of scenes. But like you guys, I like that you could always tell he was in love with Peyton no matter what he was saying to anyone else. His actions/looks didn't match up with his verbal denials. I like that that was acknowledged in s5. About anything else he ever said being a denial of the truth: that he was now and would always be in love with her.

I can never seem to pull off a full rewatch of LP scenes in chronological order but I do rewatch random scenes from time to time.
