Movies just don't get the depth shows do, imo.

No they don't and it makes it easier to include more storylines/details when you are redoing an book as an tv show compared to an movie.

I think A Series of Unfortunate Events is an great example of that. Hell, I think Harry Potter would have been better off as an tv series too.

Unfortunate Events is the best example of that for me. The movie squashing three books into one just didn't work at all.
