^ Same, it seemed the writers wanted to have him TOO GOOD. lol I can deal with him changed, just not his personality getting stripped away because of it.

They should have also done an better job developing other friendships with Nathan too

TBH, most of the times in later seasons Nathan was like a robot. I loved him, but while watching him, I never felt that he could be like someone from real life, if you know what I mean. The only exception would be S5 but they made him a softy jerk here, which I disliked even more.

I actually didn't mind and I would have preferred for the writers to continue with the injury angst instead of introducing Carrie.

That injury angst was the better story. It didn't have to continue to cause issues with Haley, but overcoming it etc.
