Nathan/Haley:
Things were going so well. They had some adorable scenes, we got a shirtless Nathan, and then BAM he opens his mouth and should have inserted his foot. I hope they work this thing out. He's gonna have to do some major a$$kissing! Hopefully we'll get some cute Naley scenes in the episodes to come!

Brooke/Lucas/Peyton:
Okay...I honestly can say that I am angry with the character of Lucas. He's coming between two best friends! AHHHHHHHHHHH! And I actually felt bad for Peyton. So angst filled, so torn. And Brooke is falling for him. Oh those scenes broke my heart. I'm an avid Brooke/Lucas fan, but even I want Luke to be alone...At least for now. Cause what Peyton and Brooke need right now is time to work on their crumbling friendship and time away from him! And as for the part where Brooke wants to impress Karen that broke my heart too. She was hoping they could bond. Awwwwww!

Karen:
Good to see her back! She looked great!

Deb/Dan:
For the first time ever I actually felt something for Dan. And I am glad that he owned up to Lucas. He's being a man for once.

Whitey:
All I can say is I love Whitey and his scenes with Nathan were priceless. One of the only highlights in a somewhat somber episode. He really does make a difference and I am glad he finally realized that!

Keith:
They recently have been pointing out his drinking which I've found to be interesting. I guess it was all build up for the accident.

The Promo:
Looks interesting. Its gonna be an angst filled episode. Lots and lots of angst!

I am very sick and just sitting up and typing this has zapped like all my strength. Talk to ya all later!

OMG.. I felt the words, you know? It was SO powerful. I love Dan, yeah yeah whatever he's an ass but he's so unable to not be an ass that I love it!

I think the, "he's my son" line has been the best in the entire series.. GREAT DELIVERY!! Great acting!

And wasn't Karen a vision?? So beautiful!

Brooke/Lucas/Peyton - I'm one of the few that likes Peyton and Lucas. I mean, of course I don't think it's cool to cheat on your girlfriend or backstab your best friend, but I always thought P/L had a connection that he and Brooke didn't. I feel terrible for Brooke though. She's totally falling for him and I hate knowing she's going to get her heart broken. But on the other hand, I do enjoy Peyton and Luke's scenes together.

Keith - I noticed him drinking earlier in the ep and wondered if that was going to play a part in the accident. That sucks. I really hope this doesn't ruin what him and Karen may have had.

Karen - She looked really good. Glad to see her back. What a terrible thing to have to come home too.

Deb/Dan - Deb is the coolest lady. I love her. Dan is such a jackass and yeah, he loves his family, but he needs to do a better job showing it.

Haley/Lucas - I'm glad she said what she did. And even though I don't think Luke should have turned it around on her, I'm glad he addressed how he was feeling too.

And the last scene, wow. I don't even know what to say. Can't wait for next weeks ep.

I feel bad for Peyton. She is struggling with her feelings for Luke and not wanting to hurt Brooke. After this episode, it is apparent that Peyton cares a great deal about Brooke and their friendship. And I also feel terribly for Brooke. Lucas basically told Peyton in so many words that he was using Brooke to hide from Peyton and his strong feelings from her. I honestly feel like both Peyton and Brooke should get rid of Lucas romantically and work on their friendship together for now. I tend to be more of a Lucas/Peyton fan but I am thinking this pairing is not going to be happening at least for a while.

I love the fight between Lucas and Haley. Haley was right in laying into him and Lucas was also correct in telling her his feelings about her and Nathan. I thought the entire scene was fairly platonic. Did anyone see any jealousy/romantic feelings there? I was looking for some at first glance and did not see too much. Although, I thought I did just slightly see Lucas sort of jealous about Haley and Nathan. I could be wrong but it does seem as if Lucas does have some huge feelings and issues with Haley being with Nathan. It probably is entirely platonic and only because she is with his bro. But, I did sense some sort of slight jealousy possibly? I could be off. What does everyone else think about the Haley and Luke fight? I just think that at the very least, the writers are keeping the possibiliy of a Lucas and Haley pairing in the future. I know some people do not like this, and I am undecided at the moment about this..

I would like to hear comments about how people feel about the Lucas and Haley fight and if anyone did see anything more than platonic feelings going on?

MG---- I love this show more and more.

DAN --- He might not be the favorite character on the show and he does put his foot in his mouth alot and tries to deny the truth about Lucas whenever he can... but when push came to shove and it was life and death, the fatherly instincts took over.. such an emotional scene, I loved it, it was a Dan defying moment for me... it's like everything bad he ever done, has came back to haunt him in one moment... all the anger, the hatred, and the heartlessness toward Lucas, has turned into guilt and guilt is a hard thing to get rid of.... I am curious to see how he reacts next week, will he go back to being Dan, the guy who could careless, or morph into the father he was suppost to be Lucas... I don't know there are so many possiblities..... How will Karen react, how will Nathan react to Dan saving him, Oh I can't wait.....

KEITH ---- Oh my god..... I felt so unbelieveably bad for him, drinking and driving is careless and should not go un punished, but for goodness sakes, everything he has wanted for a long time and everything he has dreamed of, has shattered in one weak moment... he is going to be torn down by this, I wonder how Luke will feel, how Karen will react, I seriously hope there is room for forgiveness for him....

PEYTON/BROOKE/LUCAS --- Ugggg, Peyton/Luke are really pissing me off, I was hoping so bad that Lucas would just break it off with Brooke, rather then cheat and break her heart.... but Peyton, I would not forgive her, and if I did, it would be a very long, long, long, time... honesty in friendship is the best thing and if you can't have honesty, what can you have? She is wrong, more then Lucas is , friends come before boyfriends, I don't care how much she likes Luke now, the point is, she had her chance, she didn't want it, wether your scared or not, you don't make your decision after you realize your friend is with him... wrong, wrong, wrong, I do feel bad for her, cause I know how it feels to like someone that is with your friend, but you don't betray your friend for a fling, like she said, she should have give lucas a decision, to be with her and break it off with Brooke or stay away... instead she took the weak way and betrayed her friend.... Yeah Brooke might have known that Peyton liked Lucas, but when you ask your friend and they give their blessing, it dosen't mean they have the right to go back on it... I believe if she would have told brooke, things would have been different.... this is why I have not picked who I want to ship with these three, I am not into dishonest relationships.... I will make my decision when all three come to a decision....

NATHAN/HALEY -- OMG, they are so cute, but hmnnnn, Nathan should have been honest in a suttle way, rather then spilling it out like that.. tisk, tisk, I still have hope for these two though

HALEY/LUCAS

Great scene with these two, Haley should have tore into him, like she said the old Lucas, wouldn't have done this too Peyton and Brooke and he should have laid it out about Nathan.. I think that feelings were hurt, but that it is about time that they were honest with eachother, about they way both have changed..... I do however think that Luke's wreck will effect Haley, more then it would Peyton and Brooke... I believe that next week, we will see some amazing acting from Bethany,,,,, or at least i'm hoping..

KAREN

She looked amazing and I am so glad she returned this week, but OMG next week, her face, her fear, I cannot wait..

I think this was one fo the best episodes so far..... I am looking forward to next week. One Tree Hill as we know it, will change because of this one moment and I seriously hope that it will be worth the wait,,,,,,

So Sorry Long

The cheese seems to be coming out pretty thick of late. I rolled my eyes at Lucas's flatline because that was so obviously drama for the sake of drama. I don't think anyone actually believes he's going to die.

Whitey's little list of life goals also had me laughing. While I think his storyline for this ep was great and his scenes with Nathan were some of my favorite, the little list on a piece of tiny notebook paper that could so easily be lost or maybe misplaced in a completely contrived manor inside a playbook was just a little too much for me.

PLB, bleh, could it be written any worse? Lucas is supposed to be the good guy on this show, yet he shows absolutely no remorse for the fact that he's cheating on his girlfriend. The only time anyone mentions guilt is Peyton... whom I still like despite the messing with her best friend's boyfriend. At least she's showing that she knows what she's doing it wrong and she feels bad about it.

I've been feeling for Dan of late, I really have. The man is still a jerk and he still doesn't realize it, but he's trying to pull his world back together, and it just isn't working. I didn't really care all that much about his scenes with Lucas, but the entire Deb thing had me choked up just a little.

And just to weigh in a bit on the whole Lucas/Haley argument, the more I watch that scene, the more Lucas just pisses me off.

Haley did start tutoring Nathan for him, and while yes, she did lie to him about it, she was still doing it for him. Then, once the tutoring came out into the open, she was nothing but honest with him about her feelings for Nathan. She went to Lucas pretty much as soon as she acknowledged the fact that she liked him, and anything between her and Nathan stopped being a betrayal the minute Lucas told her that he understood.

It's been what, two months since that happened? The only discomfort that Lucas has shown with NH was the comment about asking Haley to stop kissing him, and then, they laughed about it. He's been friendly Nathan, he hasn't said anything to Haley about being upset about it, and now all of the sudden, she's betrayed him? What a load of crap.

I thought it was completely disrespectful and crappy of Lucas to tell Haley that she was wrong in a relationship that so obviously makes her happy and to then imply that the only reason Nathan was still in it was to piss him off when it's clear to everyone and their deaf, dumb, and blind dog that Nathan has serious feelings for her.

Lucas said what he said because someone was finally calling him on his crap and he felt backed into a wall. Who else is it on this show that pulls out lameass crap like that just to make themselves not seem so bad? Oh, that's right. Dan.

All in all, though, it was an enjoyable episode, and NH are cuter than puppies in their basketball tutoring scenes.

If Lucas doesn't want to be with Brooke, then BREAK IT OFF WITH HER YOU ASS! Stop waiting around for Peyton to do with it you, you coward.

He kept going on and on how he doesn't want to be with Brooke, how he doesn't want to "hide" anymore, but when he could've break it off with her, he didn't. Why does he need Peyton there? When you don't want to be with someone anymore, you break it off, simple. I guess he wants to be sure Peyton will be there just so he'd have a pair of lips to fall on as soon as Brooke is out the door

I hate that the writers created all this drama between P/L/B when the N/P/L triangle fell through, because for a moment there, I actually believed the writers got a clue and decided to go another way, but alas, it was too much to hope for a WB show I guess.

As for Lucas' accident, well, he's not dying, we all know that. So is this a ploy to get the audience to sympathize with him again? Or, more likely, it's just drama for drama's sake

i thought the LH fight was really well done actually. It made perfect sense in the way they are together lately. they were really close best friends, but they haven't been talking much lately.

ofcourse i loved that haley laid into him and told him exactly what he was doing was wrong. but someone pointing that out to you is obviously going to make you react to it. and lucas's reaction was spot on.

i did think it was betrayal that haley is dating nathan, and lucas could not have been so fine about it. he said he understood and he never once made haley feel guilty for being with nathan (so her line about "not this again" was kinda off) but he must have felt betrayed about it. i know it's been two months, but that was unsaid between them and its realistic that his betrayed feeling would come out in the fight like that.

i didn't really think lucas was wrong in anything he said during the fight. He wasn't making her feel guilty, or hadnt been, but he couldn't hide what he was feeling anymore. And obviously haley is happy with nathan, which is why lucas hasn't reacted badly about it. they've both said that they're happy as long as the other person is happy too. and i dont think he was telling her that the relationship now is still a ploy nathan has, or that it doesnt mean anything, just that it was a betrayal of sorts.

i really liked the whole scene. I love LH friendship so much, and i hope this just makes them stronger.

-----------

These are my comments on the ep, that i posted in my LJ, but i thought i'd post them here. they're pretty long tho.

Okay I'm going to try and be chronological in my comments today so I don't forget anything. So starting with Haley's dream. So cute and funny. I totally missed Tim as a cheerleader, but that would be funny to see. And Nathan just happened to be shirtless in her dream too! So funny! And then when she woke up the expressions on her face were so funny.

The of course we move to Peyton and Lucas. Okay, I really don't get why he suddenly wants to be with her. He says ever since she came to his house that night, but that was the night he needed to make a choice and he chose Brooke. If Peyton admitting her feelings was all he wanted, he should have been with her in the first place. This whole story is just making Lucas look bad and is pointless.

I loved Lucas, but he's going around kissing Peyton in the middle of school and that's just wrong. His suddenly wanting to be with Peyton makes no sense. Sure he used to like her, but now he suddenly doesn't want to be with Brooke? It's stupid.

How happy was I when Haley turned up at Lucas's! Yay for the return of the friendship (for now). I love how she called him "loser". And asking for his help. Aww. Love how she said "You have to show me how to do a free shot" and he was "free throw" and she's like "whatever". Or something like that anyway. I would have liked to see him helping her, though. It would have been cute. It was kinda sad that he was busy, and she only came to him because she didn't want to be embarrassed in front of Nathan. I know NH are the couple and are cute, but I miss LH damnit!

And then Brooke turning up and the "tutor girl" "tigger" thing was cute. I didn't get why Haley called Brooke "Tigger" but someone pointed out it's because Brooke is always bouncing around and that makes sense. It was cute. I really want these two to become friends.

Anyway Haley trying to throw the ball and Nathan coming was really cute. They are really cute together and all their little scenes were cute.

I like Brooke more and more in every episode. She is so falling for Lucas and I feel so bad. It was so sweet how she wanted Karen to like her. She is really turning around. And then Peyton and Lucas are going to go and do this to her! It's not fair.

I liked Peyton and Haley's talk. Mainly because of what Haley said about Lucas. "It's not like Lucas was dating Nathan!" Firstly that line is just too funny, but also so true. Because Brooke is actually dating Lucas. It's not the same thing!

The Nathan and Whitey thing was cute. When Nathan was talking to Whitey and being so sweet it was so weird because I remember it would have been Lucas to have that kind of role in the earlier eps and now it's Nathan.

I knew Haley would see Peyton and Lucas, probably because of the episode and then came my fav bit. The fight! It shouldn't be my fav bit because I love LH, but I think the fight was really realistic.

Firstly Haley had every right to tell Lucas off for what he was doing. They are best friends. She feels disappointed that he's changed so much and she doesn't understand. I'm glad she stuck up for Brooke even if they aren't friends. Peyton and Lucas are both her friends, but Haley can't stand by and watch them be so cruel.

But that said, I for one am very very GLAD that Lucas said something right back. I think Lucas has every right to talk about betrayal. There was betrayal involved in Haley going out with Nathan that was never really worked out. It was one of the main reasons I couldn't get into NH at first. I just felt it was wrong for Haley to be with Nathan considering the way he had treated Lucas. And Lucas was actually really good about the Haley/Nathan thing. I know everyone hates Lucas at the moment, but I have to say I used to love him and he was really understanding about NH. He never made her feel bad about being with Nathan, but it obviously hurt him and I can understand how his feelings could come out in a fight like that. It was very believable. And Haley saying she did it for Lukewell Luke is right, that she's obviously not dating Nathan for him.

I think they both said things that the other needed to hear.

I really hope the fight will build their friendship to become stronger. They've both neglected it lately, and I want to see it back. They used to be so close, and I want to see them that way again.

The scene with Nathan and Haley at the end was so sad. Nathan actually admitting that he started this thing to get back at Lucas. Aww, poor Haley. I felt so bad for her. Joie did the heartbroken look so well. I think Nathan just assumed she had figured it out, but I don't think Haley realized that Nathan had only come after her for one reason. I was wondering when it would come out. I'm a little surprised that Nathan just said it so offhandedly. Poor Haley. He was right about it being ironic that they've swapped places. I wish it wasn't like that. I want to like Nathan and Lucas both.

And then the accident! Poor Luke. I know I haven't been impressed with him lately, but obviously that was so dramatic! And Dan actually admitting that Lucas is his son. Doesn't really change my view of Dan but it's a step.

Karen looked really nice. I feel so bad for her to come home to this. The poor woman.

As for the promo of next week. Well I really hope we get to see some more Lucas/Haley stuff. I want Haley to be there for Lucas and not just have the focus on Peyton and Brooke.

my fav part was dan. even though he was being an ass having an affair but all was forgiven at the end.

from the general description, i though it the conversation between him and the doctor will be just like:
"are you the parent?"
**pause** "yes"

but when he said "he's my son", that just blew me away. i was soooo happy! i've waited forever for this!

Can't wait till the next ep. Haley is going to so guilty and karen's heart will break. bye bye karen/keith.

i wonder if there is any karen/dan scenes. She's never going to forgive keith, he's getting a divorce and finally acknowledged lucas as his son. pus, he saved luca's life. so maybe... just a speculation!

Well, this may be the first time I have said this and I can say I really hope it's the last, but I just did not like this episode.

The only thing that redeemed it was two things.

Lucas and Haley finally get some screentime. Thank God! I mean, it's the thing that made me really enjoy the show in the first place and it's been pushed to the side. I really wish that he would have been able to tutor her, it would have been some quality scenes between the two. Now onto their fight, I can actually see it coming from both sides.

Sure, Lucas is still feeling betrayed. But honestly, how many of you can blamed him? I mean, he put his feelings aside and treated Nathan nicely for Haley's sake. And this is the first time he's really snapped at her for it. Look at the whole beginning of the season, Nathan tortured Lucas. I know that Nathan's different now and I love Nathan so don't get me wrong. But of course, Lucas is going to be feeling crappy considering his best friend was Haley. The one person who was not tied into the whole Scott family history, and then she was brought into it with Nathan. It had to hurt.

Haley had good points as well. Lucas hasn't been the greatest guy lately. Things have changed a lot in his life, and I think the majority of reasons should be Karen. His mom was always there to give him advice and put him in place, once she left, we saw what he became. He changed completely. He's not the same Lucas we all saw in the beginning.

The next best thing would probably be the Nathan and Haley scenes. The reverse tutor thing was cute and Haley's dream was cute (Tim in a cheerleading uniform, lol).

Onto Nathan slipping up. Many people have been commenting that Haley should have known all along. But honestly, how would she have? Haley is a person who looks for the best in a person, she didn't at first with Nathan, but eventually agreed if he left Lucas alone.

Haley probably thought that if he agreed to this, then he must be in need of a tutor badly (that and his "F" paper)..she probably then figured he wasn't using her for Lucas.

The whole accident thing is stupid. How convient for Dan to be right there, and then for Lucas to flat-line. You know I don't think he will survive, considering he is the star of the show.

Sorry the sarcasm is leaking out.

Tired of the B/L/P triangle. Tired of talking about it.

Where was Jake? Did they just forget about having Jake in the episodes? It makes me mad because Jake has so much potential.

I'm probably one of the few who are with you, Krissy!

Lucas / Brooke / Peyton - They are teenagers who don't always do the right thing, and are ruled by their emotions. Lucas has had his moments where he feels guilt about how he's "cheating" on Brooke, but Peyton has expressed it out loud. I realize everyone loves Brooke and Lucas here, but they do have that problem of What do they have in common? The answer is ~ Very little. So they probably wouldn't have lasted long anyway. He and Peyton have always shared a connection. I for one will love it when they get together!

And I'm sorry, but what kind of friend is Brooke for starting something with Lucas in the first place when she knew Peyton kind of had a thing for him? Gosh we are so much harder on the characters who become jerks after being saintly than we are on the characters who used to be jerks and are now the saints.

I'm wondering how long it'll take for Lucas to get well, since it doesn't look good for him. That'll probably mean that the Peyton / Lucas/ Brooke issue will be pushed to the back for a while. He'll in no condition to be choosing between women.

Whitey / Keith / and Whitey / Nathan - I think a lot of coaches and teachers wonder if they've had an impact on their students / athletes. The list was incidental, but the acting was wonderful and Whitey was marvelous.

Nathan / Haley were great, but I just always wonder why they are together? What does each get from the relationship? And I just don't see the spark between them. The basketball / granny scene was tres cute, but they just look like friends to me. Don't jump on me - just expressing my opinion.

Keith / Karen - I can't wait to see where this goes. I just love Keith more and more - how about that scene with Dan when Dan picks him apart? Dan gets his kicks in odd ways. And he was so excited to go to the airport and "finally start his life." Awwwww, what a shame this accident will put an overwhelming roadblock in their relationship. And the drinking issue - even if Keith had a drink, it didn't look like he had enough to impair his driving (*Not that anyone should be drinking and driving! ) and the accident didn't seem to be his fault. It was kind of hard to tell, though. Did he have the arrow to turn? And Karen did look absolutely beautiful!

Dan / Deb - I can't wait until Deb gets away from Dan. She's been so great about standing up for herself. Feel sorry for Dan? - never. He's an idiot, and that's the nicest thing I can say about his character. Was the "He's my son," scene amazing? Absolutely!

Can't wait until next week's episode!

And the music from this week was wonderful -

"Most of the Time" by Automatic, Down
"Happiness" by Dalton Grant,
"Leaving Trains" by James William Hindle, Prospect Park
"Everybody Wants You" by Josh Kelley, For The Ride Home
"Inside of Love" by Nada Surf, Let Go
"Brief Intermission" by Rob Momary
"All I Can Do" by Sandstrom Thomas
"Don't Confess" by Tegan & Sara, If It Was You
"The One You Want" by The Get Up Kids, Guilt Show
"Pink Bullets" by The Shins, Chutes Too Narrow

Hooking up with boys is not going to provide the answer, however prince of a guy he might be. True emotional maturity for Brooke (or anyone else) would be to realize that she doesn't need a Luke or a Nathan or a Jake to feel good about herself. Sure she could draw strength from a good relationship. But why must it be with a boy? Why not Keith? Karen? Whitey? Haley? The most meaningful relationships in life are not necessarily with boys. And if OTH genuinely wanted to be refreshing, that's the kind of message they might want to consider.</STRONG>
I'm going to have to disagree with you there. I don't think any of the girls are necessarily smart, or strong. I mean - Peyton definitely has her fair share of problems. The only one that comes close to filling this prerequisite is Haley, and, yes, she has a boy.

I wasn't trying to imply that for each girl to find fulfillment in life they need to shack it up with some dude. I was merely trying to say that out of all of the characters, the one that needs to be introduced to some kind of "love" would be Brooke. Up until now she's been under the impression that "love" runs hand in hand with guys and liquor. She needs to be taught that there is more to a relationship than a one-night stand. And for a while there it appeared that Lucas was the man to do that.

But I s'pose we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.
