1x09 - With Arms Outstretched
November 18, 2003

After fighting with his father and Haley, Nathan succumbs to the pressure he is feeling and takes amphetamines to help his game. However, he isn't prepared for the destruction the drugs do to both his body and his family. Meanwhile, Peyton goes to Lucas to rekindle their relationship, but when she arrives at his house, she catches him with Brooke.

I'll do my rewatch today I think and I'll post my thoughts.

I've done my rewatch of the first episode.. I'll do most of the characters and the ships I ship and how I felt about the episode.

This is it!

Dan - From the moment I saw him I knew he only cared for basketball and only wanted Nathan to go further than he did in basketball. Also he doesn't care for Lucas, which I think is wrong because he should care for both of his sons.

Lucas - He is one of my favourite characters in the episode because he didn't want to play on the team because of Nathan, but did anyway because Whitey believed in him and also Skills told him that he never belonged at the River Court. Him wanting Peyton if he won the game, I thought was fair because Nathan didn't deserve Peyton.

Nathan - He was a jerk and I don't think he really cared for Peyton, he just wanted a girlfriend because he was the popular guy. Agreeing to quit the team if he lost the game, which I though was fair because it seemed to me that he was only doing basketball because his dad made him, but he backed down out of the deal because I think of his dad.

Haley - I've got nothing to say about Haley.. I just loved her.

Peyton - She comes across as mean and a punk rocker chick that doesn't like to judged by people and doesn't like to let people in because she is afraid of them leaving.

Lucas/Peyton - I loved their scenes, you could see that the chemistry was right there from their first scene and the "I'll be seeing you" Just gives me so many feelings :lol:

Karen - I love Moria Kelly she was just amazing in the scene with Paul, she just gave it everything.

I though the Pilot was an amazing first episode and it just makes me want to watch the second episode.

I have to admit that I really enjoy every characters in this season.. But I haven't watch those episodes for long time..

Same. They were all likeable except one :nod:

^ Dan? But even he was likeable in twisted way. You know, the character to love to hate. ;)

From the first three episodes, NH scenes (together and apart) were my favourite ones. :nod: I also liked Peyton, didn't care for Brooke, and Lucas... well let me just say that he wasn't as annoying as in later seasons. :P

Karen was great, Keith not so much, and Dan very amusing to watch. :D

Well I hated Dan from the beginning.

My thoughts on the episode.

Karen - She knows that she still loves Dan and can't be around him, which I think is normal because you will never forget your first love. Her coming at the end and facing the past I think is something that we all have to do.

Brooke - I love her.. No words about her flaws so far!

Dan - Still the same.

Lucas - He is having a bad time fitting into the team and I know that Karen knocked some sense into him by telling him not to get down to Nathan's level. Also him wanting to quit, but then he didn't because he didn't like to quit anything and if he quit the team he would of had to go back to the river court, and he knew that he didn't belong there.

Peyton - She still doesn't like to let people in and she was rude to Lucas because she doesn't like anyone looking at her art. Also her thinking that her art isn't good enough is her

Nathan - He's getting better at treating Peyton the way that a girl should be treated, but is not there yet. Plus he was a jerk to Lucas because he though that he owned the team.

Haley - I still love her, no flaws as yet.

Lucas/Peyton - God, I loved them.. The stuff that they said to each other :sigh:

The second episode was amazing, I like that they haven't given us huge cliffhangers yet.

I'll post the third one tonight.

Nope. The character I hated was Brooke.

I never like Keith/Karen at all even as individual.. But I prefer them when they w/ someone else..

Karen & Haley :love:

I love how Haley actually belong in Karen/Lucas.. <33

For me it'll always be the OT3 :nod:
