One plot that infuriates me the most is Ryan's father being a 'reformed' nice guy.

Then paring him with Julie and making Ryan so accepting of him. Which I thought was completely out of character for Ryan.

We've seen Ryan in the past be upset and untrusting of both Dawn & Trey. Why would he be so accepting to his dad that used to physically abuse his wife and kids???
