I remember that too! It's a pity he didn't learn a lesson about Kandy angst before he added Carter to the list. Though I agree with what you said in the last thread. For me at least Rebecca was a bigger betrayal than Carter, and really, Carter was ultimately a reaction to what had happened with Rebecca.

The Carter thing was annoying because I thought they'd resolved their difficulties when Rebecca left but oh nooo, we had to endure another love interest. (In fact as much as I LOVE The Rainy Day Women, that episode made me think a lot of things had been resolved which in fact came back to haunt me

)

But I know what you mean, Stef - it did seem like it was just Kirsten's turn to have a love interest which made it seem repetitive and annoying. I resented the fact that after the Rebecca and Carter things, Kandy seemed slightly tainted somehow.

That was a factor too. It really did seem like Josh wasn't making much of an effort with them.

I don't know if I disliked the Carter and Rebecca stories because of the repetitive nature or if they just seemed like wasted new characters. S2 was home to some pretty weird inclusions into the mix.

You're right, Kat, I really love The Rainy Day Women too, but I can't really watch the Rebecca scenes as much as I can watch other scenes.

That was one thing that got on my nerves about The O.C., the number of new characters that came and left.

Yeah, you had to remember not to get invested because you know they'd leave!

Seriously though, I didn't like how in a couple of circumstances they'd bring in a character and they'd have a huge effect on another character and have a big impact on a storyline at the time, then suddenly off they went and everything seemed to go back to normal.

Even when they give the impression for a second that Sandy might choose Rebecca or sleep with her, I haaaaaate it!
