Episode 120 "The Telenovela" Episode Discussion Thread
I enjoyed the episode. Not the preview, but....well, more later!

R/T/M- I love R/T. Tonight really proved to me how much better they are than R/M. Marissa is annoying. I liked Eddie too and hope we see more of him.
S/S- Adorable! All of their scenes were awesome and Rachel Bilson did such an awesome job when she was talking to Anna. L/J- Funnier than I expected. I actually don't mind it all that much. Caleb's friend- Looks like it will be an interesting storyline with Kirsten and everything so that should be cool. Jimmy was hilarious when he was talking to Julie I thought. Best. Episode. So. Far.
I really really loved this episode. I thought the show was going down hill but this episode really pulled it back up and pulled me back in. Marissa - Well, not much to really say about her. But I did actually start to like her. Atleast she wasn't throwing her self at Ryan now, which is nice. She is actually trying to be his friend. Which I'd rather see them being anyway. Ryan - Perfect! How he is taking Marissa back into his life. Trying to be friends, but still setting some boundries. That is good. And with him trying to find which woman he actually loves. That is so sweet. Seth - Usual. Finally he got balls. Summer - She is now getting some of her old self back. Very nice. I really liked how she could express her feelings to Anna of all people. That shows that Summer isnt as stuck up as people think. Anna - Very good. I liked it how she actually helped both Seth & Summer get passed their fears and admit that they are together. She was a very good friend for that. Theresa - Loved her! Even with Marissa being Ryan's ex. Theresa is very nice to her, and doesn't hold anything agaisnt her, which is good. I'm glad she admitted to still having feelings for Ryan. Julie - Goddess! haha. I dont know what else to say but AWESOME! __________________

Don't kiss people when they are engaged! It makes for good television but... I'm such a prude. Yeah, Eddie, punch Ryan out! He should leave ur fiancee alone. Poor Ryan is so confused.
The episode was o.k. I wish Anna wasn't leaving but oh well... great job at helping out her ex with his current girlfriend. Summer, don't worry, Seth knows you guys have little in common yet he's fantasized about u for numerous years and now that he's gotten to know you, it's only gotten stronger - nothing to worry about. Caleb dude, come on. If I was going to have a booty call it wouldn't be with a crusty old guy... o.k, he's not that crusty but I bet he sometimes has to use Viagra. Jimmy needs more lines. I had to LMAO @emogeek. Lol... what a funny word. From what I gather, Seth is not running after Anna for anything other than to make sure that he's not the reason she's leaving -just to make sure there are no hard feelings. __________________

I didn't pay attention to the Cohen parents plotline...I think it was something about Sandy and one of Caleb's friends and Caleb doing something illegal? Don't take Caleb away! I love him!
Ryan/Theresa: Eeee! I love how comfortable they are around eachother and I hope that doesn't change. Loved the scene in the motel room. "I'm not hungry." "Don't say you're not hungry, I know you." Aww. Theirloveissoopure! And that last scene? Killed me. Ryan with the leaning in and the whispering and the kissing...ahhh. Hot, hot, hot. Good for Anna for not being bitter and trying to explain Summer to Seth. But the look on her face during the kissing booth? Aww. Seth? Summer? Ehh. Seth had no shirt on and his hair was rumpled and he looked cute, so that's all I paid attention to. Next week: "I don't want her to leave." Samaire looked so pretty in that clip. *sniffle* I love you, Anna. And I'm not all with the Julie/Luke, but Luke really needs to be shirtless more often. Yes, he does. __________________

Really? I thought they were engaged but Theresa was having issues with it. When she and Marissa were having their heart to heart, didn't she mention something about getting married? And when Ryan was shouting at her about being only 17, wasn't she explaining it to him "Eddie is a foreman, he'll take care of me?" __________________

I didn't like this episode at all. If this had been the first O.C. episode I ever watched, I wouldn't bother tuning in again.
Even though Ryan & Marissa aren't together, they still have way more chemistry in their scenes than Ryan and Teresa. And what is it with Ryan only liking girls who are already taken? And then gets into fights with their boyfriends? Haven't we already seen that? How many times are we going to get that same storyline? Maybe Marissa should get another boyfriend, he'd probably go after her again then. And I thought that last week S&S decided they had to slow down the relationship. Nearly every scene is of them in bed together. I hope next week's ep is better and that this isn't just going to turn into some cheap soap opera type show. The first few episodes were so amazing. I'd hate for it to become trash like some other shows it's been (so far in the past, unfairly) compared to. The only part of this episode I liked was Anna. Except for her clothing. But she was cool. She looked so happy when Summer finally got on the table. What a sweetheart. |

I almost had a heart attack when Marissa and Julie almost saw each other at the motel.
As much as I thought that Seth running after Anna in the airport was adorable, (I know, shocked me too!) I have to say that he's a horrible boyfriend! You're with Anna and pine after Summer, then you're with Summer and hurt her feelings to go off to Anna. Bastard. For hurting Summer. And Anna as well, I guess. |

All in all it was a decent episode. I found L/J funny actually (if this was real life then... ). When Julie calls Luke at school and he's all "Hi Mrs..." with a goofy grin on his face, and she snaps at him, "Don't say my name in public!" Mindy Clarke's delivery was dead on. I don't why that made my laugh.
Other than that... I'm not one for conventional couples. S/S were cute (but cute is all they will ever be to me). I need some really weird couplings to actually be interested. I think R/T could be very interesting just as long as Theresa isn't one of those girls who is afraid of commitment. I'm already calling that she will run on Ryan at some point. Is it just me or did anyone else have trouble understanding what the heck Seth was saying? Adam Brody had some serious mumbling issues in this episode. And I know this is like a semi-soap opera... but is there any need for such heavy breathing???!! There are others ways to express "passion" than gasping for breath. Despite my rant... good episode. The show is getting better in my eyes. __________________

Ryan and Theresa....
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! Nothing tops this for me. This was THE best moment of the series for me so far. Loved it. Loved when he leaned in and told her he didn't want her to go. Loved her story about the piercing of the heart. Love how Ryan SMILES around her. Love that she understands Ryan. Just love her. Love them. Marissa can go die. Sorry, I hate her. Actually, I'm not sorry about it. There's nothing remotely redeeming about her for me. And her RUDE interruption at dinner was just that: RUDE. UGH. I just want her to go away. Highly unlikely I know. Summer was fantastic last night. I was a Seth/Anna fan who liked Summer/Seth, but then stopped liking Seth. But last night, Summer was just great. So was Anna. I felt so bad for Summer when she said that boys usually leave her. Poor girl. Julie turning down Caleb was hilarious! "Is this a BOOTY CALL?!" BWAH! Kimba still on the Ryan/Theresa high |
