As stupid as Marissa is, I think Ryan is sometimes acting even more so. If Ryan wanted to find out something about Oliver, why couldn't he have asked Sandy to look into his background? Sandy is a lawyer, after all.

And why hasn't Ryan brought this all to the attention of Jimmy and/or Julie? They might be able to talk some sense into Marissa. It would also be a way for Ryan to score some brownie points with them.

As well-deserved as the fight was, it was the dumbest thing he could have done. Oliver was right--Marissa isn't worth it.

I agree. Does anyone know what episodes they will rerun these next three 3 weeks? I'll try to catch up on as much as I can.

Very true!

I hate how they're making Marissa now. Oliver is right, Ryan should move on... so that Marssa can actually see what she's losing and fight for him for a change!

TOBY, get out of my head. You pretty much just summed up everything I thought about the episode, even Seth's jerkiness... Maybe we're like Seth/Anna. We think the same... tell me what you dress like/what you eat, and we'll find out!

Okay, so I'm going to try and get this bit finished up as quickly as possible and see if everyone can sit through it without throwing things at me.

The Old People: I adore Jimmy, so I'm glad that he and Sandy are going into business together. Julie annoys me, and I think it's crap that she took the credit for things that Kirsten obviously did. But whatever, Caleb's a moron. Moving on...

Ryan: Get a better girlfriend. Marissa doesn't deserve you... but reading that letter was kinda creepy hon, let's not have a repeat of that behavior.

Marissa: Stop being such an idiot. If you couldn't tell that Oliver wanted you, and that his "exgirlfriend" doesn't even exist, than you're even dumber than I thought you were.

Olive: You know, if you weren't so psycho, I might like you. But you are. So I can't really do anything about that. If you can kill Marissa next week, that'd be great, thanks.

Seth/Anna: While I love these two as a couple, I hate what the writers are doing not only to them, but to Seth. They're making it seem like these two have too much in common, and that it's bad for their relationship. I could only wish that I found someone that I had that much in common with, and who I wanted to be in a relationship. The writers are going about this the wrong away, and you can tell, especially since Seth/Anna haven't even broken up, and Seth has sex with Summer most likely in the same ep. I think that's disrespectful not only to Anna, but to Summer as well. Sorry, but if a guy broke up with his girlfriend, and then had sex with me the same day... I'd be kinda creeped out.

Seth/Summer: I'm just not a fan of these two as a couple. I like them better as friends... and I think that scene at the lockers proved that to me even more. Friends don't sabotage their friends' relationships (which these two are both guilty of doing), they talk and comfort each other, just as they were doing at the locker scene. And a lot of people have been saying that Seth is in love with Summer and not with Anna (personally, I don't think he's in love with either of them!), but I think it's more like Seth is in love with the IDEA of Summer. He's always had this larger than life image of her in his head, and when he actually began to get to know her, I remember him mentioning a few times how Summer wasn't that great. I mean that girl has jerked his chain around more than once, and I could understand her not living up to his expectations either. I think that one of the reasons that he wanted her is because she threw herself at him so many times (kissing him out of nowhere, the Wonder Woman thing). And I think the same thing goes for Summer, I think she wants Seth only because someone else had him. She never really looked at Seth twice until Anna was showing interest, and she even threatened bodily harm to him if he mentioned their first kiss. So yeah, I just don't see it with these two.

SethI think Seth is totally being a jerk, especially to Anna and Ryan. Ryan was looking for advice, and all Seth could produce was "Can we talk about me now?". There seems to be an obvious change is Seth recently, and I don't think it has to do with his relationships, I think it's him. Someone before said that he was an attention whore, and I totally agree. And when he doesn't get the attention, he throws little whining fits. I also think that that's another reason why he wants Summer, is because now she gives him all the attention he want. But whatever.

I've been considering not watching the show anymore, not only because the show is really annoying, but also because it's turning into a worse version of Dawson's Creek. It's a retarded soapopera of DC, and I don't think I deal with the frustration anymore. My friend told me I'd be betraying my love for Adam Brody if I stopped watching the show. I said I'll just whip out my old Gilmore Girls tapes and watch him there. I don't need the OC for my AB fix.

Send Adam Brody back to Stars Hallow, I want him with Lane. Bring me back Dave Rygalski.

I wasn't sure if you were implying that Seth/Anna were doomed from the beginning, and there's no hope for them reuniting (you really never know with these shows!). But if you were implying that, does that mean that Ryan/Marissa are doomed as well? While I wouldn't mind that, Ryan/Marissa started up as fast as Seth/Anna if not more so. Just wondering what you thought about that.

Kat: I completely agree with you on the "Seth is being a jack@ss front". Writers! Stop screwing with my Seth. Make him funny again! Make Summer go away!

Um, i am usually a casual lurker on these message boards. However, the enigmatic coating of that statement left me quite confused. How can you approve of their friendship and then abruptly declare that their actions are not within the confinement of a harmless friendly relationship?

Also, I don't remember Seth ever seeing Summer in a negative light. I dunno, maybe i'm missing something.

xKatx - This seems to be a recurring trend, no? I'm glad someone in here understands me, and agrees. And I didn't even remember to type half the things I wanted to about the ep! Did you book that Vegas flight yet?

Anyone know the song that played when Ryan broke into the school?

You're right, I kinda contradicted myself, only because I didn't explain it the way that I was thinking it... does that make sense?!

What I meant was I like them better as friends who banter. Like when they were headed to Mexico, and just how they were acting with each other on the trip. And when Ryan found Marissa and Summer then buried her face in Seth's shoulder... that seems like a friend act to me, and that's what I like. The locker scene was another friendly act, where they were just talking casually, and he was reassuring her that she'd find someone, etc. That's what friends do, at least that's what they should do. The writers have sort of screwed that up by making them do things that are invoked by 'jealousy'. Like sabotaging each other's relationships with other people, i.e. Summer being around Seth/Anna all the time, and Seth telling Danny to 'be bigger'. I didn't think that was cool, only because you don't do that to your friends, you're supposed to support them regardless of whether or not you think what they're doing is stupid (unless of course they're harming themselves, then you can beat them with a stick until they're unconscious ). I preferred them being friends than trying to be with one another, cause I think their 'wanting each other' brings out the worst in both of them.

I do know that during the Cotillion episode, the one where Anna was introduced, he sort of saw how Summer was a bit manipulative, and how she was totally jerking his chain. She didn't want him to be her escort, and so she found someone else. Then when Marissa said she wasn't coming, she dropped her other date for Luke. And then when Luke bailed she went back to Seth assuming he would automatically take her back. But then he chose Anna, because he was enjoying her company, and Summer was... jerking him around. Sorry for not being able to come up with another phrase, but that's the only one I can come up with at midnight on no sleep.

I hope that clarifies a bit of that. If it didn't, just let me know. I'll try and to be more specific next time.

TOBY: I'm ready when you are. Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane, don't know when I'll be back again. Vegas calls. I'm expecting a very nice honeymoon.

I dont think its really fair to say that Summer is the one that threw herself at Seth. In fact, if anyone "threw themselves" at him it was Anna. Examples: In "The Perfect Couple" Anna leans in to kiss Seth and Seth pulls away and then runs off. Then, in "The Homecoming" in Seth's bedroom, she again tries to kiss him and he runs over to Captain Oats. Then she kisses him again and he finally kisses her back but after a few seconds he says he has to go check on some "cauliflower" and runs off. (btw im not trying to be like mean i was just pointing out that its not really right to say summer was throwing herself at seth) Also, Summer showed interest in him in "The Escape" and "The Rescue" before Anna came back and started liking Seth. Also Seth isnt just in love with the Idea of Summer. He sees that there's more to her than what she lets people see. Thats why he likes her. They've shown more than once that he likes her for more than the way she looks and stuff. (hey it even says so on the official website)

Also I dont get the locker thing either...do you think they are or arent friends?? sorry that confused me a little

Yeah, the reason they were in sabotage mode is because they apparently don't want to be friends.

Like, at all.

Yay.

I can see and understand your point, however there are a couple things that I wanted to point out also regarding it all. In The Perfect Couple, Anna does kiss Seth, and he pulls away and runs off I think only because he was kinda freaked out by it. I know that if an attractive guy friend of mine out of nowhere kissed me, I'd be a little freaked too. But only minutes later in that same episode, Summer also kisses Seth I think mainly because she sort of felt threatened by Anna. And in The Homecoming, Anna kissed him and I think he pulled/ran away is because Summer was in the other room (but he did kiss Anna back during that first kiss, I've seen the clip many times! lol) and he wasn't sure what the hell he was supposed to do so he left to call Ryan for advice. And if you'll notice, he also runs away from Summer during the ep to go check up on Anna. During the next scene he's kissing her back and they're trying to take his clothes off, and that's when he made the cauliflower comment when he falls off the bed.

As for Summer showing interest in Seth during The Escape, for me it was more of her showing interest in getting to know him as a friend kind of thing, cause even then she protested to sharing a bed with him. If you're interested in someone romantically, you don't argue about sharing a bed with them, at least I wouldn't! And I also saw the friend vibe in The Rescue, as throughout most of the ep, they were both trying to help Marissa, I didn't see that as romantic interest either.

As for the locker thing, I went into greater detail with it in my last post, but what I was trying to say is that their behavior as of late has not been very friend-like (sabotage, etc), so I don't consider them like friends at the moment. But they've had friend like behavior previously (i.e. the lockers), and that's how I'd like them to be.

Spud14: I do think they'd like to be friends, but I think that they want to have a romantic relationship as well. While I don't think they should date, and they should just stay friends, obviously the writers and I disagree. But you can never really tell what happens on these shows. I was one of the ones that didn't think Joey and Pacey would end up together especially with all the Dawson/Joey soulmate talk. But yeah, we don't have to get into that show.
