New L/V spoilers from a script of KB's that someone is selling on Ebay! Episode 3: Wichita Linebacker
Coach Fry rides Kurt hard. Veronica is Jealous of Logans friends.
Logan drives up and greets Veronica.
Veronica & Logan walk, talk it out.
Veronica bugs Logans car. There is a small excerpt of the script posted too, but I don't think we're allowed to post actual quotes from the script, so in summary: Veronica tells Logan she isn't jealous, that would involve piano wire. Logan asks her what that was then, and she says that was mild annoyance at the fact that a couple kids invited him to a party and he went, but he's always busy whenever she wants to do something interesting. Logan asks if she means interesting like some fossil wheezing through a novel, and Veronica tells him that Martin Amis isn't a fossil, and it's college, they're supposed to be broadening their horizons past video games and binge drinking.

****************************************************************************************************
In the 3rd episode there are awesome scenes between Keith and Logan, and Keith, Veronica and Logan. Jason said Logan is tongue-and-cheek when it comes to Keith when Veronica is around.
Someone who works at SDSU posted on the E! forums a couple days ago that they saw Kristen and Jason filming what they think was ep 4, and Logan and Veronica were very definately still a couple. Woop, at least we have 4 eps confirmed now
Jason also said at Blowout that they shot some really great stuff with L/V in ep 3, and he hopes we like it. And that they have a "talk" in which Veronica is showing some jealousy.

From Spoilerfix: Episode 3.01: Welcome Wagon
Airdate: October 3, 2006
* 09/15 - Rob Thomas pays the ultimate compliment to Battlestar [Galactica] in Mars' Oct. 3 opener when Veronica's college RA introduces her to the word "frak," and it immediately becomes her new favorite expression. And the early word on Piz? Fanfrakkintabulous. He's clever, smart, silly and, well, easy on the peepers. Source: The Ausiello Report
* 09/15 - Collage of spoilers revealed in an episode 3.01 review: The premiere starts us out right in the thick of things as we see Veronica on her first day at Hearst College. None of the friends we've come to know have left for other colleges, and we're introduced to new characters who're roommates of those staying on campus. Veronica wastes no time making herself (and her skills) known to the people on campus, and in typical Veronica fashion, she doesn't really care so much what they think of her. The first mystery is clearly identified in the first episode, with possibly a teaser at another at episode end. One new character we meet is Piz, Wallace's roommate. Besides Wallace, some other characters we see reappear in the premiere are Vinnie Van Lowe, Mac, Logan and Dick. Here's an interesting tidbit that I'm not sure was ever really implied before: Veronica and Logan are clearly having sex now. They're very much a couple, though Veronica may not fully feel the same way about that as Logan does. Logan is still living in the hotel. There are some great references to a certain "curse word of the future" in both episodes that had me in hysterics. Veronica works in the Hearst library. No mention or word of Weevil or the Kanes, though there are plenty of people affected by what Cassidy did last season. Keith makes a big mistake that may have lead to a character we know being killed, and he feels awful about it. Veronica has a new car, and we see it revealed in a funny scene right after a quote from Keith. Kendall does briefly appear in the second episode and we learn what's was in that briefcase from last season's finale. Source: TVSquad
* 09/14 - [Someone will die in the season premiere.] Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
* 08/30 - Piz is "from a suburb of Portland, Oregon. With all the sort of brooding, rich bad boys we've had on our show, he's sort of the antithesis of that. He's much more a Lloyd Dobler, frenetic kid with a lot of words in his mouth, and a very similar middle-class background as Veronica. So he should have a real different energy than, say, Troy or Logan," [says Rob Thomas.] Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
* 07/26 - Rob Thomas says 'Veronica and Logan are still going strong' in the premiere. The mystery for the first pod is the 'serial rapist on the large Hearst campus' that was introduced last season. Also, in the first episode, we see Dick dancing in Speedos. Julie Gonzalo Diane Lane's assistant teacher in Must Love Dogs plays Parker, Mac's new roommate. Chris Lowell from Life As We Know It plays Piz, Wallace's new roommate. Charisma Carpenter is in the first ep, but Rob didn't elaborate when asked about her specifically (hinting she's MIA after that). Source: Kristin on E!Online
* 07/21 - In an interview Rob Thomas revealed: While Veronica will be living at home with her father Keith, Wallace and Mac will both have college roommates. Wallace's will be an oddly named fellow, Stosh "Pizz" Piznarski. And Mac will find herself living with a gal named Parker, who will be everything that Mac is not. She will be bubbly and effervescent and listen to a lot of Nelly Furtado in the room. Source: IGN
* 07/14 - The episode will feature 24-year-old student Fagan, African-American 20-year-old Nancy who is a feminist, Honey a drop dead gorgeous woman in her 20s that could recur, and new recurring character Moe, a gangly and odd 19-year-old. Source: SpoilerFix.com
* 07/08 - Two new series regular will be added to the show. They will each appear in 7 out of the 13 episodes ordered. If the series gets more than 13 episodes, they may stick around. Both characters go to Hearst College. One is a 20-year-old female named Parker who is a charming party girl. The other, a love interest for Veronica, is a college freshman named Piz. They are both set to make their first appearance in the season premiere. Source: SpoilerFix.com [Note: According to a few sources, they decided to not make Piz be a potential interest after all.]

Episode 3.02: My Big Fat Greek Rush Week
Airdate: October 10, 2006
* 09/15 - Veronica and Logan worshippers have cause to be particularly giddy, as Neptune's "star-crossed" (Veronica's own words; see Episode 2 for more) lovers not only share a sweaty bed scene, but several really sweet and funny couple-y moments. Source: The Ausiello Report
* 09/15 - Kendall appears in a flashback. An actor from [Freaks & Geeks] appears in episode two! Source: TVSquad
* 07/26 - Episode two is about a crime after a sorority rush party. Veronica has to go undercover through sorority rush. Source: Kristin on E!Online
* 07/21 - A professor has students re-enact the torture of prisoners at Abu Ghraib. A new recurring character will make her first appearance in this episode. She is named Fern and has tattoos and odd piercings. Source: SpoilerFix.com
* 07/21 - Rob Thomas revealed: We’re going after Daily Show comedian Lewis Black to play a professor who’s running an experiment about prisoner abuse that Wallace and Logan get involved in, and his scene is like a page and a half rant that we just think Lewis Black would be phenomenal for. [Wallace and Logan] are both in the same sociology class, and the professor gives them a choice of either participating in this experiment or writing a lengthy paper, and they choose to participate in the experiment. Airdate: October 17, 2006
* 07/29 - The episode features football players and staff, such as handsome Kurt and Coach Fry. As well as a sensitive hippie named Larry and a nerdy college student named Darren. Source: SpoilerFix.com
* 07/21 - Rob Thomas reveals: [Weevil]’ll reappear in episode three. We’ll find out that he went to prison briefly for assault. They didn’t get him for Thumper’s murder, but they did get him for assault, and when we first see him, he’ll be working at a car wash, which he will tell Veronica isn’t quite as fun as the song makes it sound. It’s sort of a mandated job, and Veronica just runs into him by accident, and shortly after that, Weevil pins his boss to a coke machine and he loses that job, and suddenly he needs Veronica’s help. So that’s episode three and then he gets worked back into the regular storylines. Source: Kristin on E!Online

* 08/23 - A storyline on "Veronica Mars" this season will have a trustee of Hearst College, the university Veronica now attends, going missing on the eve of a crucial trustees' meeting about the school's future. Who better, then, to play the part than real-life Hearst heiress and one-time abductee Patty Hearst? Such will be the case in a November episode of "Veronica Mars." [...] Hearst, who's appeared in several John Waters films and on episodes of "Boston Common" and "Son of the Beach," won't exactly be playing herself in the episode. The character, however, is clearly tailored for her. She's the granddaughter of newspaper baron William Randolph Hearst, and on the show she'll play the granddaughter of Hearst College's founder (a timber mogul rather than a newsman). The character's echoes her kidnapping by the radical group the Symbionese Liberation Army in 1974. After several months in captivity, she took the name "Tania" and joined the SLA in a San Francisco bank robbery on April 15 of that year. She was arrested in 1975 in Los Angeles and convicted after a lengthy trial the following year. She served 21 months in prison before then-President Carter commuted her sentence in 1979. Source: Zap2it
* 08/23 - "We have Patty Hearst booked for Episode 8," declares Rob Thomas, who says John Waters' infamous muse will not be playing herself. "She is playing a character close to herself. She's playing the granddaughter of Hearst College's [founder], who in our world is a railroad baron rather than a publishing baron. [She] goes missing the night before an important vote about the future of Hearst University. It'll be similar, but she is not literally playing Patty Hearst." Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide

From TV Guide's Ausiello Question: In the last AA, you said that someone will die in the season premiere of Lost, Veronica Mars or Grey's Anatomy. My guess is Lost. Am I right?— Bekah
Ausiello: Wrong. It's Veronica Mars. Question: Veronica Mars scoop?— Alex
Ausiello: Here's a fun little scoopbit: James Jordan, who played janitor-turned-gun-shot-victim Lucky last season, is returning as a completely different character. He's playing Tim Foyle, a teaching assistant in Veronica's intro to criminology class. Question: You looked absolutely awesome on the red carpet for the Emmys. I saw you in the background of the E! preshow. Now, after that shameless intro, I was hoping to score some Veronica Mars scoop. — Erin
Ausiello: And Veronica Mars scoop you shall receive. I asked Rob Thomas whether Piz, the new hottie in Veronica's life this season, will pose a serious threat for LoVe. "I think Veronica and Logan's struggles are going to have little to do with Piz. They're two pretty intense characters on their own, and I think most of their issues are going to be with each other. I don't want to play some traditional thing where Piz is insinuating himself into the relationship, or attempting to break them up, or doing anything other than being a nice guy who happens to be around Veronica a lot, due largely to proximity, but they also get entangled in a couple of cases together. Logan should just be worried about Logan." Piz, meanwhile, is "from a suburb of Portland, Oregon. With all the sort of brooding, rich bad boys we've had on our show, he's sort of the antithesis of that. He's much more a Lloyd Dobler, frenetic kid with a lot of words in his mouth, and a very similar middle-class background as Veronica. So he should have a real different energy than, say, Troy or Logan." BTW, check out my column in this week's issue of TV Guide to get your first look at Piz (aka up-and-comer Chris Lowell) on Mars. If you're straight and female or gay and male, I think you'll be pleased with what you see. Question: Any chance we'll see Aaron Ashmore (Troy) back on Veronica Mars? — Becca
Ausiello: As Rob Thomas reminds us, "He kinda got another job on us." That job, of course, would be playing Jimmy Olsen on Smallville. Still, Rob says, "We thought about bringing Troy back quite a bit, and if we could ever work out a guest-star [thing], we wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger on that. But we felt like we had just put Veronica together with a lot of similar boys. If there did develop another love interest for her, we kind of want him to come from a different place." Like, say, a suburb of Portland, Oregon? Question: I'll send you pictures of a naked Bea Arthur for some Veronica Mars prattle. Come on — no one can turn that down! — Lara
Ausiello: How right you are. Here's some major-ass-prattle-poop: Mars' main man Rob Thomas is reuniting Enrico Colantoni with his Just Shoot Me lovah Laura San Giacomo! "She plays a woman who comes into Mars Investigation and asks Keith to prove that her husband is cheating on her, and the two of them kind of hit it off," Rob reveals. "So Keith is really hoping he finds evidence that he's cheating." Rob — who would only say Laura appears in "several" episodes — admits her connection to Enrico played a big part in her casting. "I don't think she would have done it [otherwise]. She and Enrico are friends. When I saw her name on the list, I said, 'This would be awesome. Let's try to do this.' And I called Enrico first and said, 'Would you be cool with this?' And he was very excited about the idea." Oh, how I love it when a shameless casting stunt comes together. (Note to Lara: Please send the Bea pics to my private e-mail account. Thanks.) Question: Any scoop on Veronica Mars? — Kelsey
Ausiello: OMG! I totally forgot to share with you the other major-ass-prattle-poop: "We have Patty Hearst booked for Episode 8," declares Rob Thomas, who says John Waters' infamous muse will not be playing herself. "She is playing a character close to herself. She's playing the granddaughter of Hearst College's [founder], who in our world is a railroad baron rather than a publishing baron. It'll be similar, but she is not literally playing Patty Hearst."
Question: Will Weevil (Francis Capra) be back this season on Veronica Mars? — Victoria
Ausiello: Not only will he be back, but you'll see him just as much as you did last year. Question: Two weeks without AA, and your comeback does not include Veronica Mars? In the words of Gob, come on! — Dominique
Ausiello: Maybe this'll make up for it. Rob Thomas conveyed to me the "most depressing casting news in the world" last Thursday. "Yesterday morning we had Michael McKean to play the dean [of Hearst College], which I was so excited about I was doing backflips. It made my day yesterday. And then I got the call last night that he had passed [on the role]. So, somewhere his agent got confused over the course of 12 hours. I'm such a huge fan of him, and he's exactly who we wanted to use. He was at the top of my list. That's a drag." Question: Dude, that GG/VM Logan-crossover scoop? Best. Ever. Where am I sending you that case of Snapple? — Julie
Ausiello: Sure, now you want to send me Snapple. Where were you two weeks ago when I was lying on the floor of the Ritz Carlton twitching like Whitney in rehab. But I'm not bitter. And to prove it, I'm going to share with you what Rob Thomas had to say about the Oct. 24 crossover, which, as many of you pointed out, isn't technically a crossover since Matt Czuchry isn't playing Logan Huntzberger on Mars. (Cue me rolling my eyes and making a "W" with my fingers.) "The network suggested it, as [happens with] many of these things. But it's one of those times that I'm happy about the suggestion. I'm excited that it's a real actor… rather than a Top Model — not that I think our Top Models have done a bad job." Rob confirms that Czuchry will play Charlie Stone, half brother of Mars' Logan (Jason Dohring), but that's all he'll confirm. "I want to save the rest of the show." Question: I'm dying for news on Season 3 of Veronica Mars. Please tell me you have something. There might be some Diet Snapple in it for you if you do. — Alex
Ausiello: I have something — but it's a bit of a downer. It doesn't look like Arrested Development's Michael Cera will be making a return trip to Mars. Per Rob Thomas, Cera booked a movie and is unavailable. "We're very bummed, but surviving," Rob tells me. "We're hoping to get him in the show after his movie wraps, but the boy has many projects, so we're not banking on it." On a brighter note, Rob says Tina Majorino (Mac) is close to inking a deal to become a series regular. "She wants to be able to continue doing Big Love, which complicates things a bit, but I think it'll work out. Fingers crossed. We love her." Question: Do you know anything about the rumors of a new love interest for Veronica named Piz in Season 3? — Daniel
Ausiello: It's true. Piz is one of two new recurring roles the show is casting; the other is a female peer of Veronica's at Hearst. My colleague Ileane Rudolph asked Kristen Bell about the new-love-interest rumors on Monday, and this was her response: "I don't know how she couldn't [have a new love interest]. But they haven't told me anything about the new season yet."

__________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Ausiello report Big Scoop! CW Plots Gilmore/Veronica Crossover!
Brace yourselves — the Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars universes are about to collide! I just got a smokin' hot tip that Gilmore guy Matt Czuchry will cross over to Veronica Mars on Oct. 24 — but not as Logan Huntzberger. It's better: He's playing Charlie Stone, half brother to none other than Logan Echolls! Can you believe it? Logan is playing Logan's brother! I love it!

__________________________________________________________________________________________________ Ausiello's report from the CW Press Tour is here: TV Guide Community: Ausiello Report
"We're going to rein that in this year. Our first mystery will be nine episodes, with no pre-emptions or repeats. Our second mystery will be seven episodes, with no pre-emptions or repeats. And our final mystery of the year will be six episodes, with no pre-emptions or repeats." Of course, he adds, "that's spoken with the confidence of a man who thinks he's going 22 episodes." Scoop! Tina Majorino is officially on board as a series regular. Wallace, Logan and, yes, Dick will all be joining Veronica at Hearst college. And Rob confirms that two new characters will be coming on board – a roommate for Mac and a roommate for Wallace. Scoop! Charisma Carpenter will be on the show "at least once." Teddy Dunn, meanwhile, is, um, done. "We had two romantic possibilities for Veronica, and one sort of dominated the fans' interest," Rob says. "And it became clear that one suitor won out." OMG, you guys got Teddy Dunn fired!
Last season's briefcase mystery will get wrapped up in the first two episodes.

From Chicago Tribune:
* Lewis Black will probably be guesting on the show as a college professor who does experiments regarding prisoner abuse. Logan and Wallace, who are taking the class, take part in the experiments because their other option is to write a long essay, and they don’t want to do that.
* In episode three, we’ll see Weevil again, he’ll just have gotten out of prison, but not for what he did to the guy who died in the stadium blast. He’s working at a car wash as a mandated post-prison job and he eventually loses his job and he needs Veronica’s help. And not surprisingly, he ends up with a job a Hearst.
* They’re trying to get Patty Hearst, who said she loves the show, on “Veronica Mars” as – get this – a board member at Hearst College. And I don’t know if Thomas was joking or not, but he said they’d actually discussed a story idea – what if Hearst got kidnapped?
* As far as Veronica’s transformation as a high school girl, Thomas said, “she’ll have to lose some of that outsider baggage. Whereas Neptune High School was very rigidly divided [along class lines] … that chip on her shoulder will be lessened. There will be other interesting social situations we can put her in.”
* The first ongoing-mystery arc is about the rapist at Hearst College. In the second episode of the season, one of the girls who was raped, it turns out the night she was raped she went to a sorority rush party. So Veronica goes undercover during sorority rush. “So we’ll still have situations where she’ll feel out of place.”
* Thomas wants to bring back Alia Shawkat and Michael Cera from “Arrested Development,” but nothing is definite yet and Cera booked a movie, but they still hope they can bring both actors back (especially Alia for around episodes 5,6 and/or 7).
* He wouldn’t say much about the other two mysteries of the season (each episode will also have a standalone story), but he said that the three will have “decidedly different feels.”
* The second mystery was largely inspired by Steven Soderbergh’s “Bubble.” “All the creative energy [for that movie] felt like it went into the setup and motives,” Thomas said. “The nice thing is, the second mystery, we’ve got these first nine episodes to lay in” the groundwork of what happens in arc two.
* Elaborating on the balance between weekly stories and ongoing story arcs, Thomas said: “This is a strange note to get from a network but [they said to] not worry about the casual viewer [with ongoing plots]. So with this serial rapist [plot], we’ll put those beats into each episode like we always do, but we’re not going to put any effort into [explaining the history of that story too much]. If you haven’t seen it, and you’re not up to date on it, we’re not catching you up. It’s for fans who are watching every week. So that extra space we have, we’re going to dial up the mystery of the week. [The network is saying] ‘Give us that one thing we can put on the air [and promote],’ i.e., ‘Veronica’s going undercover at a sorority.’ That’s the thing that they can put in their promos. And they can sell the mystery of the week now, rather than the big overarching mystery.”

Seattle Times
Men are from "Mars," and we like 'em that way
Logan (Jason Dorhing) and Dick Casblancas (Ryan Hansen) from "Veronica Mars" were possibly drunk enough at the CW party for me to not believe anything they said. But it's also possible they were not drunk, and merely effusive. They did seem extremely happy to see each other — bear hugs, giggles, secrets — after the summer hiatus. In any case, here's what they told me about the new season of "Veronica Mars":
Dick's mom pulls strings with a "family connection" to get him into college with the rest of the gang. "An Austrian connection," Dohring added inexplicably. Why would Dick even want to go to college? "Girls," Hansen said. "Parties. And he has nothing else to do."
"It will be interesting to see how the big men on campus do when they get to college," Dorhing said. "I kind of hope they get picked on a little."
Dohring volunteered the information that Dick has a Speedo scene in an early episode. Seriously? "I just found out about it," Hansen said. "I haven't been working out or anything." Honestly, I have no idea.

TV.com:
Thomas also revealed details about new characters and upcoming plot devlopment.
"Veronica is going to [local school] Hearst College," Thomas said. "Mac [Tina Majorino] will be a regular character, and she's going to Hearst. Wallace is going to Hearst. Logan is going to Hearst, and even Dick Casablancas--believe me, we are going to have to do some explaining about how he got into Hearst."
"We're introducing two new series regulars," he revealed. "One is named after the director of our pilot, Pizz, who will be Wallace's roommate, Stosh Piznarski. Then Mac will get a roommate named Parker who will be everything that Mac is not--bubbly, effervescent, and listens to a lot of Nellie Furtado. They won't hit it off right away."
Thomas said he wants to make sure the character of Veronica stays true to her roots.
"My fear with the character is never let her get too huggable, too cuddly, too warm," he said. "I tell the writers to write her like a porcupine."
****************************************************************************************************
****************************************************************************************************
And some Dick stuff from an Interview with Ryan Hansen at neptunesite.com:
What is Dick up to in Season 3? Is Dick going to college with everyone else?
Dick is going to college, and it's cool, because Dick has got some depth this season, which is cool. I read the first episode. He's dealing with things. He's still partying and whatever, but he's definitely got a lot of depth this year, which is cool.
Is college going to be party central for Dick Casablancas?
Although he does have depth this season, I think he definitely is still going to party his nuts off.

Scoop! Veronica Mars Casts Former General Hospital Starlet
Remember the lovely Robyn Richards?
Back in 2004, General Hospital dropped her to give the role of Maxie Jones to the popular Kirsten Storms (ex-Belle, Days of our Lives).
Yeah, Storms is totally adorable and I think she ended up doing a fine job on GH. I just felt for Richards, who had played the role for 12 years, only to be recast with a bigger "name" just before a meaty Maxie story line. That's showbiz.
But I don't feel too badly for Richards anymore! TVGuide.com has learned that she has booked a guest-star appearance on Veronica Mars. She'll play Shania, a snooty sorority girl Veronica (Kristen Bell) will befriend in the upcoming season. I'm hearing she's just in one episode so far, but it very well could become a recurring gig.
Good luck, Robyn!

E!Online
KB: I have a new love interest. He's Wallace's new roommate. They haven't gone there with the love interest yet, but I think they're thinking about it. They're going to see how it pans out. But they introduced a new guy who's the exact opposite of Logan. So rather than being like--Logan is very like James Dean, he's very like brooding and solitary, and he just does that wonderful, like old movie star thing. This guy is sort of like goofy and funny and charismatic in a totally different way than Jason is. And so I think they're going to sort of let Veronica choose a little bit between the dark side and the light side.
KV: So we're going sort of to be tortured into liking this guy is the sense that I'm getting?
KB: Oh, yeah. You're not even going to be tortured; you'll like him immediately. He's really--his name is Chris Lowell. He did that show "Life As You Know It". He's so adorable and so funny. And all the new characters are so great.

Ok, I don't want to read spoilers, but I was at Comi-Con and wanted to post the spoilers I remembered (which don't seem to be many)
* according to Rob, Logan and Veronica will still be going strong at the start of season 3
* info about the new roomates for Mac and Wallace
* something about Logan's "BFF Dick" being seen at Hearst, but the network didn't like the phrasing
* Dick dancing in a speedo in one of the early episodes (I can't wait)
* er...was there more? Man, my memory is so short! I think I was starstruck.

We also know that one of the scenes filmed on Friday was called, "Veronica solves the mystery." Oh noes, spoiler! Veronica solves the crime! Hee. But one of the other scenes I will put under a cut. I am totally behind on fandom stuff, and this might already be common knowledge, but the scene sounds awesome, so I will put it here anyway.
Logan escapes from "prison" (or at least attempts to), and it takes place at night.
