Yeah that actually surprises me too. I would have thought they would have done something like this sooner. Like when Stefan was without humanity in s3 and Damon became mad at Elena for something regarding the kissing/not being Stefan he would have flipped his switch too. Too bad we're getting this when the writing/plot is so terrible.
