I am excited to see the final episode just because its sure to screw you over, make you say WTF!!!! at least 10 times, disappoint you, piss you and still make you feel like it's the end of an era.

She was a lot more enthusiastic before S8 aired and she'd read upto 8x03 so I'm guessing it's this S8 storyline annoying her. She probably didn't think Bonnie would be this long without magic

I felt like the odd one out the day they announced that S8 was the final season. Coz the people I follow on twitter were all sad about it being the end of an era and there I was elated

I understand the whole aspect of meeting friends through the fandom and all that so that part I appreciate. If I didn't have people to share my grievances with then I don't think I would have stuck it out this long

I guess because it somehow is an end of a certain era. I felt like that with LOST, the show was absolute rubbish in the last two seasons and I wanted it to be over, but at the same time I had this feeling of nostalgia, because as always, once you reach the end, you go back to the beginning and you evoke emotions and memories that bring you back to that era and make you feel nostalgic. The same happens to me when I think of the last episode of TVD being aired. I was only 18 when it started, I'll be 26 when it ends. Every period is formative for you as a person in some aspect, and when something lasts for 8 years, you sort of connect it with that period and the emotions you experienced back then. It doesn't help that I reaaaally loved the show in its first 3 seasons (and the first half of season 4), it had a special feeling to it. The cast had great chemistry and it's just a shame that it all went to hell. Maybe that's the part that makes me feel this disappointed.

Sorry for this, when shows end after such a long run, I always get introspective.

^I have thought about the fact that I was 19 when I started watching. I'm 26 now and this is the longest I've watched a show The other day I was looking at stuff from 2011 that I wrote about the show just to see what I was saying back then And there are definitely real life memories attached to this show. I remember before S7 started when the leak for Caroline's pregnancy spoiler came out and it was 2am in the morning and I was awake because I was studying for an exam. And then I spent like an hour ranting in a group chat with some of my friends which is crazy because it's a fictional character and I had a real exam so I shouldn't have been wasting time. Stuff like that I'm not gonna forget And the first and last time I attempted to write a fanfic was because of this show. It was a short drabble but the point is only this show could inspire me to do it I never had the confidence to attempt it before.
