If they didn't include that scene where Kim or whatever said that Dean or whatever he didn't want to break the bond and wouldn't, Tyler forced him and later threatened to kill them. I do agree tyler and caroline are the less messed up and selfish characters (outside of Bonnie), but Klaus corrupted him. His revenge blinded him.
I don't even care at this point. They can do whatever they want with Klaus and Tyler and I don't read most posts... I want Klaus in the spin off. I love him and this show is too small for him.

I don't think Tyler really wanted to become the Alpha at all. When Dean said he didn't want to break the bond Tyler said to Hayley that Dean was right and they couldn't force him. But Hayley was intent on it. She was also the one who pushed and pushed him to be the Alpha because Kim challenged them. Hayley was actually the true Alpha, and Tyler likes strong women so he didn't really care that she was bossing him around.

Obviously we found out in episode 9 just why Hayley was so intent on having the 12 hybrids freed. But from the start Tyler only wanted to free the hybrids because they were slaves and he knew how awful it was to be a slave himself.

I agree with this. No one on the show is innocent. Tyler wanted to be leader of the pack. It wasn't Tyler's pack. Tyler didn't choose those people and prior to Hayley coming to town, he had no real connection to them. He wanted to free them because that is what Hayley wanted him to do. But if you think about when he broke his sire bond to Klaus, he wasn't thinking about the other hybrids ( which is why he didn't leave an address,or phone number) ,nor breaking their sire bond.

Honestly Tyler trying to free people doesn't excuse Klaus killing his mom. And Kol dying, which wasn't Tyler or Caro's fault, doesn't excuse Klaus for almost killing Caro. I'm all for making Klaus be the bad guy but please let him be just that, the bad guy. I do wonder if the spin off means no possibility of Klaroline.

To me, we saw that he genuinely cared about the others being free'd from Klaus's sire bond, because he knew what it was like. He couldn't have stressed enough how much he wanted to help them and how much he cared. I don't think it was about revenge or self gain at all

Well to be fair to Tyler, it was less than a week between the time he left the mountains in 3x19 and the time he was body-switched with Klaus in 3x22. Also from the moment he got back to town it was non-stop drama with him worrying that he was going to die because the Salvatores were going to kill Klaus, Alaric trying to kill them all then the council finding out he and Caroline were vampires. He didn't exactly have time to stage a hybrid revolution with all that going on. Then by the time he was unswitched with Klaus, Klaus had left town for parts unknown with the hybrids. As soon as the hybrids came back to town Tyler was helping them become unsired.

you'd think that caroline throwing a party when they thought he was dead would mean no klaroline but alas. caroline isn't an innocent lamb, she uses klaus for her own ends, and mostly those ends are the destruction of klaus. i can cut klaus some slack because he finally snapped, same way i cut them all some slack if they appear to be regretful.

Speaking of Tyler, I really think he's the extended absence. Carina said once again she doesn't know if there's a big death and knows nothing about 4x15, but she said she knows what happens next week and it's gonna devastate her. And Carina LOVES Tyler.

So why isn't Tyler allowed to defend himself? Klaus enslaved him, ordered him to hurt people he cares about and killed him mother. What is Tyler supposed to do, just sit quietly in the corner and let Klaus do whatever he likes?

I don't understand why Klaus is always so surprised that people are plotting against him and trying to kill him every episode. He gets all indignant about it and its like, dude, buy a clue.
