you're welcome Is it awfully terrible that I don't remember what those other people look like so it doesn't matter? I've seen the picture like a billion times but still the faces never register in my head it doesn't matter anyway haha.

"If, like us, you’ve been suffering serious Lockwood withdrawal symptoms lately, you’re in luck. Tyler has been MIA since January, but that egregious wrong will be righted in the upcoming April 19 episode — and we’re hearing that the final two episodes of Season 3 set up a really strong storyline for our favorite teenage hybrid in Season 4. You know… if he survives that long."

What's their reasoning for the underwater scene...like it just seems so random honestly unless it's actually tied in with something, and it really seems like it is.

I don't believe that it's to only show a time where Elena's life was so much more simpler without any vampires. There's a deeper meaning than that.

It will have to do with her choice, and her possibly choosing no one, or it could do with build-up for an SE reunion...I really don't know anymore at this point lol orrrr, it could have to do with an entirely new SL with a new mystical creature or some crap which could've been the thing that turns out in the end that was the psycho killer or something lol.

OMG so excited for a new Tyler's storyline for season 4.It's obvious he's gonna survive, what would it the point of setting up a storyline to kill him off?Of course,we still don't know what it is,so that creates anxiety and that's normal. But Candice thinks we'll be happy and that for me is the comfort, wheter T&C get separated again by consequences for example, that wouldn't matter 'cause we know they love each other and they'd find their wayback to each other.

I feel like she'll probably be thinking about a lot and it will flashback like a memory or dream because of everything she's worried about. just my guess

I do wonder what this drowning scene will be about. I don't think it's only to show Stefan saving Elena... that would be... unnecessary? normally the flashbacks give us information we don't know. They've been repetitive about having nothing more about the accident. But maybe we'll learn more about the moment Stefan saved Elena. I think that's the moment that there's more to it than we've known so far.
Also someone - I guess Carina, but I'm not sure - said that her parents barely have lines through the episode, so I guess they're going to show more of who Elena was before rather than her interacting with her parents.

As for Tyler... I'm really concerned about his chances. I love his character, but I feel he won't come back. Remember what happened with Jenna? It was the same thing. They were teasing us about a great storyline coming to her, and it did come, she became a vampire. And what happened. Yeah, it was a great arc but it lasted the two minutes she survived as a vampire. But it could be a great storyline for season 3. I think it was even teased of her "adaption" as a vampire. But it never happened, because she didn't adapt in the two hours she lived as a vampire. so I'm afraid for him.

I think it would be really cruel to kill him after being absent for so many episodes.

I can't wait to see this new Tyler storyline and I hope this means he will have a storyline in S4.

Right. I'm thinking with the underwater scene comes some sort of OMG that we didn't know about. I know that some people have suggested that maybe what would happen is that Katherine really killed Elena's parents, which is what happened in the books people say. I've seen people in here say that it isn't possible though so idk.

Yeah I know JP said that the car crash is just to see Elena's life when it was simpler but I don't know if I believe that . I don't see the point of showing that unless we learn something new. Especially since according to that one spoiler her parents hardly have any lines. I think people thought it couldn't be Katherine because of the ring, but is it possible it would have still been considered a natural death even if Katherine caused the car accident? idk.

unless the ring backfired...kind of similar to what happened to Alaric...but full out not working? going by this theory hypothetically, of course.

At first I was thinking maybe it's being shown for triangle purposes, but that doesn't really make sense to me...go through all that trouble just for one flashback, and to now show anything more? doesn't sound very plausible...idk unless I'm wrong lol.

but yeah, there's definitely more to it.

yeah I don't see it for triangle purposes either. especially since she doesn't actually remember Stefan saving her, but I guess they could still show it from Elena's POV even if she doesn't remember Stefan saving her. There's gotta be some reason that they are showing this flashback. I still think that we're gonna find out something else that we didn't know before from the flashback and that JP is just telling us that to not give it away.

Mitra, do you think it's possible that they might turn Elena in the finale? I thought I remember seeing an interview where they said that going in season 4 they might be using something from the books, but I don't remember where I read it at.

ITA. Half the time I don't trust what the showrunners say in interviews in this show. They told us a couple episodes before the season finale the first season that they didn't have any plans on showing us Katherine in the present day and she was the cliffhanger in that episode. Speaking of which I really hope they bring Katherine back soon.

Yeah, exactly. I forgot that Elena didn't remember at all, so it couldn't be in her POV...I mean unless somehow she magically remembers Stefan saving her but I think it would be mostly Stefan's POV, if not all of his POV...I'm starting to think this "flashback" is something happening in the car accident that has to do with something in the present day. It's a OMG reminder that you forgot, or pushed aside or something.

I think it's definitely possible that they'll turn Elena in the finale. I don't doubt it at all as much as people think it won't happen, or will never happen, I believe that they will do it at some point, and if people view this as a six season show, as well as the writers, then the time to do it is now.

That interview that you're bringing up sounds familiar...I remember someone bringing something in here, like a couple or so threads ago, about there being some sort of mystical creature that they want to bring in for the show? But I'm not sure if that was speculation, or if that was an actual interview. I remember finding it to be really interesting cause I was like hmm, what if this has to do with the car crash flashback thing?

I don't trust what the show runners say either. Of course they're gonna be as vague as possible and deny something if it's true lol. With that being said, it's not easy for me to believe everything they say with that in mind. It's a 50/50 shot basically. Like with the DE rain scene, I think of that as 50/50, with the car crash though...I definitely think what JP is saying isn't exactly the full truth.
