I haven't read the book... so this mission thingy... what exactly is it that makes Bill appear in a bad light?

In the books Bill was sent from the Queen Sophie-Anne to find, and seduce if he must, Sookie because she knew about her abilities and found her vaulable. So he has been lying, but has now obviously fallen for her.

We have had hints from the show that he was sent, ex: Bill telling Eric, "Sookie must be protected" and Eric saying it sounds like a edict. And Bill saying their are higher authorites to the badvamps that demand they leave him and Sookie alone.

But we don't have any official word as of yet, but I'm pretty sure they will go there cause it's a huge part of the B/S relationship in the books. We shall see.

Crap, we're flying through so many spoilers/ interviews the OP isn't anywhere near caught up

As far as B/S go... Alan Ball has said repeatedly he pretty much ships B/S, so I wouldn't count on him to take it as far or exactly as the books take it... I think (happily) that B/S are endgame in the TV series. Don't get me wrong-- I like Eric, but I didn't ship E/S in the books, and I don't see the chemistry between the actors on the show in that way.

I think it's too early to say who is endgame. I would not mind at all if Bill and Sookie were, cause I do love them, but it's still way too early.

AB could have a complete change of heart, or E/S could take over the viewers. You just never know. Anything is possible.

Just because things happen in the books or is important in the books, doesn't mean it will happen in the show. The books is the books and the show is the show. People have to learn how to seperate them.

I saw a post written about a poster called cocoablossoms and I agree completley with her

Well alot of the storylines on TB are based off the books, so it's hard not to compare them.

Exactly, and how else would we speculate?

They borrowed and twicked lost of things but most of the storylines and arcs still have fondations in the books.

It's ok to compare the storylines because obviously he follows them a little bit, but honestly, it's going to be different... keep in mind that if AB were to create the show exactly as the books are written, there would be no surprises to the viewers who have read the books. Plus if I recall correctly, he stated in one of his interviews a couple threads back that he pretty much entirely followed along with book one in season one, but that the next season (this one) would beging detouring a lot further away from the books.

Anyway, I hope they'll develop Bill outside of Sookie and their relationship, the mission is a good storyline for his character and I'd like to see them use it in the show.
