The problem for me is they often put in real life political and social references but they do it very ham fistedly and cringily IMO.

After watching that trailer, I have a theory as to why Kara is wearing the Power Rangers suit (aside from the behind-the-scenes reason).
What if she's getting weaker and more vulnerable due to being split in two last season (and maybe Russian!Kara is getting stronger in return?). Alternatively, she may have Kryptonite poisoning and is taking longer to heal from it than she should (based on the scene where she's glowing green), which may also be connected to sharing and/or losing her powers because of Russian!Kara. It's possible that Brainy made the suit (I'm guessing he made it?) to protect her while she's out in the field. She may still have her strength, and the Legion ring may still allow her to fly, but she's no longer invulnerable, and she's slowly becoming more "human" (until, of course, they rejoin her with Russian!Kara and she gets her full strength back). __________________

I've watched a little bit of Grimm and she was good enough as an actress even if the character wasn't my cup of tea, so I'm excited for this.

I loved Grimm, but have to admit Bitsie's character was not my favorite in the beginning, but she grew on me. It'll be interesting to see how she does as Lois Lane.
