SUPERGIRL is an action-adventure drama based on the DC Comics character Kara Zor-El, Superman’s (Kal-El) cousin who, after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be. Twelve-year-old Kara escaped the doomed planet Krypton with her parents’ help at the same time as the infant Kal-El. Protected and raised on Earth by her foster family, the Danvers, Kara grew up in the shadow of her foster sister, Alex, and learned to conceal the phenomenal powers she shares with her famous cousin in order to keep her identity a secret. Years later at 24, Kara lives in National City assisting media mogul and fierce taskmaster Cat Grant. She works alongside her friend and IT technician Winn Schott and famous photographer James Olsen, who Grant just hired away from the Daily Planet to serve as her new art director. However, Kara’s days of keeping her talents a secret are over when Hank Henshaw, head of a super-secret agency where her sister also works, enlists her to help them protect the citizens of National City from sinister threats. Though Kara will need to find a way to manage her newfound empowerment with her very human relationships, her heart soars as she takes to the skies as Supergirl to fight crime. [x]

You know what was missing last episode? A scene where Lena and Brainy commiserate about being judged for their family names... because really, Brainiacs are essentially the inter-galactic equivalent of Luthors (except with more death and destruction).

That would've been a good scene. Maybe next season if he Brainy stays it's something the writers could make happen. I'm waiting for Brainy's arc.

Well, based on the synopsis for 3x20, they do appear to be doing the Argo City storyline. The only question is if they'll tie it to OG!Brainiac, because making OG!Brainiac Season 4's Big Bad would give Brainiac-5 a bigger part to play and a reason to stick around -- and it would be a huge mistake to make OG!Brainiac just a one-off baddie for a filler episode until Reign is defeated.

Does anyone know when they announce new regular cast members for shows? Is it at the Upfronts, or only at SDCC? Upfronts are happening now, I think. Some started last week, some are next week. Guess we’ll find out soon if Jesse is sticking around.

I would be really disappointed if it's a throw-away story where it's just "yeah, Argo City survived because Alura created a forcefield to keep it safe" with no story beyond that other than an excuse for Alura to be in the here-and-now, hanging out with her daughter and helping to fight bad guys.
