Latest News: Chloe is staying (kryptonsite)

Quote:
TV Guide's Mike Ausiello is reporting that Allison Mack has signed a deal to appear in the eighth season of Smallville. Prior to this time, no deal had been in place for her continuing on the show.

After the announcement of Michael Rosenbaum's departure, many fans were worried about what the future may bring... and now, hopefully everything will go through smoothly and Chloe will continue to be a part of the show in its eighth and most likely final season.
I'm so happy that our girl is staying.. right where she belongs

Also, It's Official: Smallville On The CW 2008-2009

Here's the Smallville write-up:

Returning for its eighth season, this new interpretation of the enduring Superman mythology and its classic characters blends realism and adventure into an exciting action series. Last season, Clark Kent and Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum) became the sworn enemies that comic book aficionados have always known and loved. The season also brought storylines of Krypton and the El family, including the arrival of Clark's cousin Kara, a.k.a. Supergirl (Laura Vandervoort), and the return of Brainiac (James Marsters).

There were also exciting guest stars from the Superman mythology, including Dean Cain ("Lois & Clark") and Helen Slater ("Supergirl"). Clark discovered more about his home planet, who his parents were, what his future holds and why he was sent to Earth. The series stars Tom Welling as Clark Kent, Kristin Kreuk as Lana Lang, Erica Durance as Lois Lane and Aaron Ashmore as Jimmy Olsen. Reinterpreting the Superman mythology from its roots, SMALLVILLE was developed for television by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar ("Shanghai Noon," "Spiderman 2"), based on the DC Comics characters. The executive producers are Kelly Souders & Brian Peterson, Todd Slavkin & Darren Swimmer, James Marshall, Mike Tollin, Brian Robbins and Joe Davola. The series is produced by Tollin/Robbins Productions and Warner Bros. Television. Superman was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.

Craig from KSite had posted this over at TWoP prior to the news of AM signing on for the whole season.

It semi-confirms that Erica Durance will only be in 12-13 episodes.

Quote:
People are worried about "The Newer Adventures of Lois & Clark," but as far as I know, Erica's only in 12 or 13 episodes. Who will be in the other 10? That right there might be a reason not to write off AM entirely just yet.

Whoever the new female character is, is a bad guy. Who is Clark going to bounce of all the time? Jimmy? Kara? I don't think so...

This is really getting old. We're here to discuss spoilers, not bash characters. Not everyone is going to have the same view point about every Smallville related issue, I get it. But that doesn't mean we have to be so harsh 24/7.

People are so upset with Lois telling Clark about the DP job. "She should be more concerned about Chloe" "Clark should be doing this on his own" blah blah blah. The fact of the matter is sooner or later Clark Kent super powered farmer needs to become Clark Kent, mild mannered reporter for a major metropolitan newspaper. Would it have been more satisfying seeing Clark make strides toward his destiny as both a reporter and Superman on his own? Hell yes.

But instead what did we get? Clark pussyfooting around on the farm crying about Lana, crying about his destiny, crying about Lex. Clark hasn't written a single word related to journalism in over 4 years. That should be our beef, not Lois guiding him to a possible job.

No one was upset with Ollie pushing Clark to become apart of the Justice League when in reality it's Clark who pushes the League on Ollie. With lack luster seasons in the past and some storylines that I rather not remember this is what we're left with and it's all we have. So why don't we just prepare for the worst but hope for the best.

you talk to me when I NEVER talk to you. Hmm let me look back ummm no didnt mention you name once.

spoilers
Justin Hartley in Smallville by Michael Courtney/The CWIt's time for an all-new adventure in arithmetic

Justin Hartley's CW drama pilot, Austin Golden Hour, failed to receive a pick-up this week.
+
The towering Adonis has a talent-holding deal with the CW, which means the network pretty much owns him for the foreseeable future.
+
His Green Arrow was wildly popular on Smallville, and fans have been clamoring for the Justice Leaguer's return since the moment he left.
+
In light of Michael Rosenbaum's impending Smallville exit — Lex bids adieu in tonight's season finale (8 pm/ET) — and Kristin Kreuk's decreased role next season, the show needs all the familiar faces it can get its hands on.
+
Sources confirm to me exclusively that producers are very keen on bringing Hartley back into the fold ASAP.

Duh. Justin Hartley is returning to Smallville next season as Green Arrow!

Are you guys getting the same thing? Crunch the numbers and let me know!

The first line of my post was dedicated to you my dear , but the rest was a rant to air my frustration about the serious lack of discussion devoted to the spoilers and how someway every discussion ends up being Lava vs. Lois. This isn't the place for this.

You don't mention anyone by name but you're not slick, people know when you're talking about them. People know when your back handed comments are meant to provoke them. It's childish, immature and I don't think I'm alone in asking you just grow up a bit and just being considerate every once in a while.
