Didn't they all (including Effy) look. I thought she said in the call that they looked and couldn't find her? i don't really remember tho

I'm not saying that it's the exact same. If that's what I said I didn't mean it like that. What I meant was that Effy's mistake was not telling anyone - not the act of hitting Katie herself. Because based on the circumstances, I think lots of people would've done the same thing in that situation. Just like lots of people would've hit Cook's dad as well as he was practically threatening Cook's life. Effy was scared, and even though Katie didn't leave any marks, Effy didn't know that Katie wasn't going to seriously hurt her. From the POV of the audience, it's completely different. But Effy hardly knew Katie at all. How did she know that Katie wasn't going to start choking her (like it looked like she would)?

I'm not saying it was right. It's what gets her into trouble - it leads to a sad ending. It's terrible. But maybe Freddie thinks.. what would he do in that situation? Maybe he can somewhat understand. Yeah he was too harsh on her, because he only heard it from Katie's POV and had no time to think about it. I think that now (post 3x10), maybe he sides with Effy.

eta: IDK I'm just trying to think of possibilities as to what that scene could be about. Maybe it's not even Freddie!

To be fair Effy had every right to hit Katie with something she was being strangled, but Effy was a complete bitch for not telling the others sooner. Freddie was an ass for cheating, all three were in the wrong in some way in that situation.

As for S4, I'm glad the rock thing looks like it hasn't just been dropped, we need to see Katie dealing with Effy and Freffy to better empathise with her as a character. I'm sure it will all be resolved by ep 4 and then they will be on friendly terms. I don't think E/F/K will be a big part of Katie's storyline but it will play a part, how could it not.

i just think it's weird how Effy did not have one mark on her. we saw Katie hitting her. we saw her basically strangling her. how come she didn't even have a bruise, a black eye, hand/nail marks around her neck? i think Effy was just really high on drugs and while Katie might have attacked her, i really doubt it was as serious as they showed us. her strangling Effy might have been a metaphor as to how suffocated she felt (with life, i mean). idk, whatever it was, Effy knew she'd hit her, she saw the blood, and to just leave her there and eff katie's boyfriend five minutes later? not on, eff.

Effy hallucinates that she has bugs in her hair, but that's not shown to the audience the way that Katie's attack is. it's not like we actually see the bugs, even though the episode is from Effy's drugged up POV. But we definitely see Katie push her to the ground and somehow Katie ends up on top of her. And the fact that Katie attacks Effy for the situation, when in reality she should be mad at Freddie, furthers the point that her whole relationship with Freddie was based on her wanting to get back at Effy. She doesn't really care about Freddie, she just wants to keep Effy down and be more popular than her.

So I highly doubt that Katie is all of the sudden going to be in love with Freddie in series 4 or anything like that. It wouldn't make sense IMO. I think it's going to be about her trying to get back her status (and therefore her confidence).

I don't doubt that Katie only wanted Freddie because he wanted Eff/Eff wanted him. The thing that has me doubting the fact she actually attacked Effy as bad as we were shown is the fact Effy didn't have a mark on her, like Fred said. Maybe Katie slapped her once instead of like ten, maybe they fell to the ground and Katie fell on top of her by accident. It just doesn't make sense, imo. As for the bugs, it was dark and unless they were large beetles I doubt we would have seen them either way.

Yes, I agree, I don't know if it was intentional or not but the combination of drugs, hallucinated bugs, and the lack of marks on Effy puts a bit of doubt in my head in regards to Katie's attack. I do think she did fight her at least a bit, but I think Effy was out if it to think that hitting her on the head with a rock was an appropriate response to what may have not been a life-or-death situation. I dobut Katie would be crazy enough as a sixteen year old girl to murder someone in the woods over a boyfriend or status. Effy's state caused her to over-react in my mind.

Also, I don't like everyone saying she didn't care about him or didn't have a right to be hurt that Effy slept with Freddie. Yes, she was using him, to an extent, but I think the dressing room scene showed it wasn't all about the status and getting at Effy. Most of it was, but not all. She seemed legitimately upset. I know they weren't intended to be a real relationship and served as a plot device for F/E, but that doesn't mean I don't love them just as much as F/E fans love their ship.

Anyway, I feel like I drudged up an old argument. I didn't mean to, my intention was just to argue that I really hope Freddie doesn't come off as a total jerk to Katie in the few scenes of them we get. I don't think its right that he should side totally with Effy on this matter because Katie deserves some sympathy. I doubt any of us would say that what Effy did wasn't at all messed up or wrong (despite whatever reasons she may have had). So having Freddie side with Effy completely and treat Katie like any residual anger at Effy is unfounded would make him less likeable to me.

Anyone think Panda/JJ could turn out friends next season? The one scene had them hanging out at Thomas' and they arrived there together. That would be totally cute.

As for Katie/Freddie, I think she did actually care about him, yes it started as a way to outdo Effy but like Nicole says in ep 9 you could tell she did like him. Though yes a big part of it was her not liking being dumped.

I still have no idea why JJ is randomly at Thomas's, he didn't hang out with them much in S3 so why is he suddenly there. Unless they had become closer friends over the summer or something.

I'm still curious why Thomas/Cook fight twice, surely it can't be about Panda both times.

JJ didn't hang with anyone outside of F/E/C and Emily. Or, unless they were in a group setting. I think maybe they're trying to give him some friends apart from them so he can develop more as a character. Thomas too, really. He had Panda and scenes with Emily. It felt really bizarre when everyone showed up at the club in 3x07 and they were all apparently BFFs because one time they helped him sell drugs and he got Johnny White off their backs.

I guess they hung out together offscreen as each episode is about a month apart in Skins time.

I'm glad they're mixing the friendships up, the triangle 4 being together all the time was boring. And it meant Thomas and Katie didn't have many people to interact with. It was only Emily who seemed to have scenes with them all and even she wasn't close to Panda, Freddie and Cook.

From the start I liked JJ/Panda because they were both kinda the odd ball out.

I think they would have an interesting dynamic. And, tbh, Thomas/Panda is not a healthy relationship if they cheat on each other. Thomas cheating on Panda makes me dislike him, but that only evens out the dislike I had for Panda when she cheated on him. I think they'd be better off as friends.

Eh i am kinda bored at the idea of them filming in the woods again. I loved Effy's ep but it seems a little been there, done that. But who knows, it could be great.

And omg yay new stuff. lol @ Thomas beating up cook, it's about time. Knew he was my fave boy of gen 2 for a reason

I thought they were gonna go Panda/JJ when I saw the first ep of S3 cuz it seemed so obvious and cliche to pair the 2 would most shows would make the typical "dorks" together. I was glad they didn't go with that tbh and had her with Thomas instead, it was less predictable.

I don't get how it doesn't make sense? It sounds to me like that person is claiming JB said all 9 characters are gonna get their own eps, which isn't true. He said some won't get an ep at all, didn't he?
