Boy do we need new eps to discuss. So that promo... I wonder if the Lorelai/Sookie walking scene is where Lorelai tells her she's going to try and get things back 'how they were pre Christopher', like they pass the diner or something during their walk, or see Luke out there throwing the hay back at Taylor.

This is NOT the main thread for Gilmore Girls. So, please do not try to make it into that or attempt to make changes that would reflect it as the main thread for GG. This IS the Luke/Lorelai spoiler appreciation thread and it will remain as such.

With that being said, there shouldn't be any changes made to how this thread is organized and handled because there hasn't been any problems recently or in the past. The only change that was made, per request from one of the longtime posters here and as a favor from me, is that general spoilers for the show will be posted in the opening post ONLY. That's it. There should be no discussion of general spoilers or other couples here at this thread because again, that is not what this thread is about. Also, there has been a thread starter (or a few, if I'm not mistaken, when the usual one is not available) that usually starts the new threads. No, this person doesn't "own" the thread and she/he isn't the be all/end all to the thread, like everything has to go through this person, but at all shipper threads, especially one that has had over 300 threads, there is usually one person that starts the thread and organizes the opening post with the latest spoilers, speculations, clips, promos, etc. There is nothing wrong w/ that, especially if that process has been working JUST FINE. So people shouldn't come in here and attempt to "take over" (for lack of better phrase) or make changes to the L/L thread when nothing was wrong w/ the system to begin with. I don't want to have to get into petty stuff by assigning only one person to start the threads (and in their absence, I would do it) because that's childish and ridiculous. We just shouldn't have to go there, people. Also, if the thread hasn't had any titles for the longest time and this was agreed upon by the thread as a whole, keep it that way. Granted, if you all want to use thread titles now, that's fine. Go for it. However, do NOT make a big issue out of thread titles and a huge debate over it. It's not that serious and I don't want to have to go through the issue over banning thread titles here at the L/L as we had at the MT.

Keep this thread as the haven and sanctuary for the Luke/Lorelai fans that they've had for a very long time, please. We welcome new fans and new posters to come and post here, given that everyone realize what this thread is here for and not turn it into something that it isn't and won't ever be.

And so long as Lorelai is admitting that what she did was wrong and that she's sorry, I'll take it. I think that it's supposed to be an awkward sorry, but combined with the speed with which she's talking it comes across a little weird. I think once we see the whole thing it will make more sense.

It sounds more like she's apologizing for spilling coffee on Luke's counter. We will get nothing these last 5 episodes. If that sounds negative...well that's how I feel. CW can't even handle the ending of GG in a dignified manner. The thing they have succeeded in is to lure all the fans in to watch SH burn.

I don't think she carried a "torch" for Chris while she was "all in" with Luke. I just think Chris was her subconcious fall-back guy. Yes I know that in "real life" people don't have back-up guys, but that seems to be the story that we've been given.

ETA: I have no problem with the promo. It sounds to me that Lorelai just lets the apology out. The fact that it's "fast" doesn't make it insincere.

I agree. I really expected more emotion out of her. Let's hope we get a lot more in ep. 19, or else I can't see how I'll even believe in any reunion that they toss at us, if this promo is any indication about how sorry she actually feels.

If DS’ sitcom had lasted, I think Christopher would have bought a one way ticket to not’s Offscreenia and ASP would have found another obstacle to put in LL’s way. He was so peripheral to Lorelai’s story that ASP never bothered to sign him on permanently. After he married Sherry I felt like the L/C relationship was as resolved as it ever would be.

Thanks for the promos Mickey and 2gg! I love seeing Rory in the diner. Like others have specced I'm wondering if Lorelai will know about the visit.

I agree, they're a bit casual. I can see why they need to ‘debate’ their issues further in 7.19. Lorelai in particular sounds like a kid who’s been forced to apologise to a sibling. The "I’m sorry, I messed up" sounds good but the rest isn't quite what I expected. But of course you’re right aussiekate – I should wait to see the whole scene before I get too disappointed.

Perhaps sincere, but fairly casual about it. Her parting with Christopher was a great deal more heartfelt and "emotional". What does that tell us about her priorities now?

...I think my husband has the same shirt as the first one hanging on the rack (the greenish one.) I don't recall Luke ever wearing it an episode; if he did, I didn't recognize it at the time. I'll be watching the next few episodes closely to see if I spot it.

I'll have to tease my husband and tell him I bought for him because Luke has one just like it!
