How great is it that they have Latina major Disney Princess Cinderella and her story is the front and centre! I wish them well with this. Haters gonna hate but to me this rebooted story looks interesting.

I have a few theories on her. One is Mother Gothel. The others are that she is Anastasia, Cinderella's other step-sister, or the white witch from Narnia, although I think that one is the least likely since there have been no other indications of Narnia being a part of this season.

I don't know about Mother Gothel. I can see her as this villainous figure in the Rapunzel story and be like Mother Gothel in that way, but I don't think they will make Rapunzel very much like the Disney story. It's just a feeling. I could be wrong of course. But I like the mystery. I like spoilers but I also like not knowing every single thing. Curiosity is nice. I like being curious about who their LGBT story will be and what Alice's story is in this version of her tale too. She looks a little creepy, a little mad in the stills and a 'darker' Alice is a nice idea.

The witch's name in the original Rapunzel story was already Gothel, even before Tangled.

Alice makes me think of Go Ask Alice, the book, and the song White Rabbit. Being on Friday night they might get a little grittier and actually show drug addiction.

That's an interesting point. I wonder if being on a different night will change the show? I don't expect it to change much. The show has always been dark. I'm waiting for the press to preview the season premiere. That's likely to happen in the next week or two. Maybe that will give us an idea of how dark the show will go?

I am really leaning toward her being the other step-sister. She and Alice are the two I am most curious about since we don't know how they fit with the other characters.
