But of course Emma is expected to just let her True Love die? No thanks to that.
Precisely. The assumption that it was meant to be anything else is the biggest REACH I've ever seen.

I will offset it by saying that I thought Hook was actually enjoyable last night. He made sincere apologies and was very self-sacrificing
He's been self-sacrificing and sincere for a while now. It's nothing new. But nice of you to notice.

Parallels are everywhere on this show. Some intentional, some not so much. Bringing up something that happened previously is very valid to discussing motivations and writer intentions. It is not done to drag a character under the bus.

I love the Snowing love story and I love the way they parallel it and sometimes flip it for their daughter.

I thought the episode has a lot of stellar moments in it. The reuniting of Snowing was spectacular and I loved the way the curse broke by everyone sharing a part of it. It reminded me of the Season 2 finale when the whole town came together to take a risk and not let Regina die. I loved how that time Hook stole the bean but this time he was the first one to take a part of the curse.

Plot is huge in this show but the character development always shines at the right moments for me.
This this this! I'm rewatching right now so many moments!

Snowing in the hospital. Snowing seeing young Emma through the door. The heartbreaking choice of staying and waiting those extra years for adult Emma to return to save *everyone*.

That's what heroes do. That's the meaning of sacrifice for the greater good.

Great call back to their closest friends and family each taking a part of the curse to break it. Going to sleep for 5 minutes pales to what Snow and David have done, but I'm glad to see that their loved ones understand just how much Snow and David gave up for them.

Especially heartwarming to see reformed villians like Killian and Regina, who would have *never* done anything like this for anyone, and they were some of the first to curse themselves. then Emma, Henry, etc.

Whoever writes for Leroy is my fav. "What the hell, I could use a nap."

That says a lot for Leroy too. He gave a bit of his lifeforce to save Regina now taking a curse to save Snow and David.

I got so emotional at the scene with Snowing looking in on young Emma. And her looking towards the door as tho she sensed them.

This show knows how to tug at my heart!

I thought Charming especially, seeing the tears in his eyes watching little Emma, was so heartbreaking. I adore him, and I think he and Emma have a very special relationship. She's a daddy's girl for sure.

It was such a good scene. It gave me so many feels, I felt Charming's heart broke, I understood Snow's sacrifice even if like Ginny I've always thought of taking the ""selfish road" to be together.

We can agree on the retcon part but the episode's emotional strength made it maybe not alright but forgivable.

I actually was more focused on Snow's pain at that scene ... she had to make this impossible decision and had to be the one to convince Charming to do the same. Ginny killed it with the look in her eyes. no wonder she had to work hard to get that scene right.

I think that's why Snow will be so determined to have a perfect wedding for her daughter

I was kind of expecting them to have Zelena featured a bit at the end ... since this week is going to have her story. It just seems so out of the blue to suddenly feature her

It really did and I don't think it helped with the cohesiveness of this season. I'm sure a lot goes on behind the scenes, but parof the magic of television should be that the cracks bts should not spill over onto the small screen. They have done a terrible job of keeping that from happening this season.

Guys there's a serious lack of respect going on here. If you don't agree with someone's viewpoint that's perfectly fine, but try to remember that if you think people should show your opinion respect then you need to do the same for others. There's no need to take things to a personal level just because someone sees things differently than you. Let's try to move forward with more consideration and mutual respect or just ignore the opinions you don't like. Thanks

Thanks for the much-needed reminder, Kara.

The show tends to move at starts and stops. The next two episodes feel kind of like speed bumps on the road to the musical episode and the wedding. But, they haven't done much with Zelena this season and if Bex really isn't going to be around next season, I can understand why they want to focus on Zelena for an episode. I am dreading episode 19 more. They scene between Hook and Tiger Lily where she explained that the stone could defeat the Black Fairy did more to advance the plot than episodes 13 and 15.
