I don't know. Black Fairy as the big bad for the final battle seems kind of underwhelming. She hasn't exactly been the series main antagonist for six seasons.

Unless she becomes the dark one.

well they are setting the plot of s7 with the black fairy as the villain you know because Rumple and Regina are TOTAL HEROES light magic and stuff

The woman who said she doesn't even like doing good, and the man who admitted he likes the darkness. Neither of them will ever be the hero that Emma is.

Doing the right thing only when it's convenient isn't enough. Heroes help because they care about others. And Emma has been one since season one.

She would have to kill Rumple to become the new Dark One. I doubt it matters who has been the antagonist for the rest of the series run. They don't seem to be treating this as a series final. It feels a lot like other season finales, most of which have been about Henry. The exception was season 3.

He's such an idiot.

Apparently not. Because Emma became the dark one without killing. And she was planning to give Zelena her darkness so she could use her as a vessel to destroy it.

There's clearly another way that has yet to be explained.
