Thanks for the thread.

As I said in the other one. I have no idea no idea what might happen. I have maybe a glimmer of hope. But then it could very well be the end of the road. Negotiations are tricky. And especially in light of the lawsuit.

I just want a airdate when the show will come back LOL.

"[We're] really not sure about Bones," Fox boss Dana Walden said during the network's executive session at the Television Critics Association. "It's sort of a top of next week business to start talk to the producers about whether this is going to be the end of the run, or whether there is potentially another season in the show. We haven't made the decision."

If the series does end this year, "we want to give them plenty of time to start writing a meaningful ending to the show; it's got such a loyal viewership—those viewers deserve a very satisfying ending," Walden said. "So we're trying to be very sensitive about that—we're not 100 percent sure what we're going to do."

The show is currently part of a widely-publicized legal battle--series stars David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel, as well as two producers, are suing the network/studio for allegedly hiding profits--but it "has no impact, really, on our decision-making," Walden said.

And she also insisted the show wouldn't continue on without both of its leads. "We wouldn't do the show without David and Emily," she said to reporters after the panel. "This is a conversation that would be [about] continuing the series and announcing it as a final season in the 12th season, or whether we'd be wrapping it in the 11th."

"We just haven't had conversations yet," she continued. "They were getting through the beginning of the season: they got a bit of a delayed start on the show because of Emily's pregnancy, and some other complications. We started a bit later. I think we're on production of episode 11 or 12, which is when we would typically sit down with producers and talk about the back half of the season and where they wanted to go...We'll see where everyone comes out on where's the right time to end it. We don't want the show limping to an ending. We want to send it out with style and class, and the way it deserves to be wrapped up."

At least the show doesn't want to go on with only one. Castle made news when they didn't close the door on ending the show if they lost one but kept the other the other day. I don't want that to happen because with Brennan and Booth. It would be very hard to do.

So if this meant to be, the end this season. Then we had 11 marvelous years. But then I could see maybe David agreeing to a final maybe shorter season.

I just hope the actors or crew members tell us if this is going to be the last. When there done talking.

Bones, now in its 11th season, has been entangled in a legal web, with multiple complaints from Boreanaz and Deschanel and executive producer Barry Josephson. Walden stressed that while “the legal matter is not resolved, it will no impact on the decision-making for Season 12.”

I am sure if there is a end of the line in sight, if the negotiations don't work out. I am sure they will stamp the FINAL stretch of episodes on it. Announce it loud and clear...Especially if the show hasn't come back yet to start airing the last stretch.

That way they can promo, "Come and watch the Beginning of the End of BONES" With twelve episodes in the episode order, there is plenty of episodes...

At this point, I just want to know when it's coming back. It's either going to continue or not. But I want to know when we can start watching again...

I think if they renew the show it will be 13 episodes final season b/c that all I think David would do and maybe Emily.

But fox is going to be really bad in ratings next year with them bringing back old shows.

Edit: I have a feeling the show going to come back when AI is over.

I am sure we will get a more firmed airdate in a few weeks, once stuff they have been keeping on the bench premiers or has a chance to give them a impression. Because one of the tweets yesterday implied they would be running new episodes through May, with the "season" finale.

So unless they plan do double episodes (and they don't have many timeslots during Idol season). They have 12 episodes left to the current order. Which means the show would have to come back in March, but earlier than last year unless they want to go into June.

I assume once the show goes down to once week for Idol. Because I doubt they plan to do a results show episode. So that opens up some. And that should be once performances begin...

And depending on how their other shows. I think Sleepy moves to Friday starts March 1st.

So I am sure we're hear in in the next few weeks. Maybe as we get a sense if the new negotiations are going anywhere... Since they do want to know early, so to give the show time to wrap up one way or another.

As the writers shape the second half the season with its future up in the air, for now, "we've adjusted slightly," Peterson said. "We looked at the last episodes and how we're going to do it. Right now, we're looking at a two-parter to finish out the season, with the new serial killer and some special guest cast at the end."

"What we're looking for the end of the season is big," Peterson continued. "It should excite our fans who have been with us from the very beginning. We don't want it to be the last [year], but if it is, we're going out big."

But the showrunners were coy when discussing which character(s) might return for the end of the season. "We might be able to wrap up storylines, we might be able to close certain holes that have been left open in the show over the years," Collier teased.

One of the bigger holes in Bones is the fact that fans have known since Season 4—but no one who is (alive) on the team is aware—that original team member Zack Addy (Eric Millegan) only helped serial killer, Gormogon, find his victim; Zack never killed anyone himself, but he was willing to let people think he did so he could remain in an asylum versus being sent to prison on a conspirator charge.

But the showrunners wouldn't confirm one way or another if Zack would return in Season 11. "We wouldn't rule anything out," Collier said. (Millegan, who was a series regular for Bones' first three seasons, last popped up in the show's 100th episode.)

But, the writers hope that even if they do tie up things this season, the show lives on. "Ideally, we want it to be the launchpad to next season," Collier said.

While I don't think Zack necessarily needs to return. It's been a long time without him. I do think they need to fix that big loophole. Of course Sweets is the one who knew, and he's dead. But still being in prison or pysch hospital for something he technically didn't do. Although being in hospital for Zack is probably better than being in prison. Because he was partly guilty.

But now six or seven years have gone by (or depending on if the show remembers all the many time jumps the show has done LOL). I think they need to resolve the Zack issue.

I could see him being released, time served. But he leaving to be closer to family...

I have got the sense the cast has enjoyed this season more than any recent ones in recent history. So that might get David to maybe commit to a final season. I always had the sense Emily would ride it out...

I've gotten 11 seasons of Bones and Booth and have been very satisfied for the most part. If this is the end, I'm fine as long as we get a great end.
