I understand and I think making Hook the dark one might have been a bit much at least in this arc and I agree there should have been more family. I do think 5b will have more Regina she has more of a role in the b plots. Even 1b it's when we got her back story.
I also saw the Hunger Games and Peeta and Katniss did remind me a bit of a CS. He was brainwashed and she tried to save him Last edited by fox24; 11-28-2015 at 09:31 PM |

Seriously though. After all the times Killian has been there for Emma, supported her, and fought for her happiness, is it really a surprise to anyone that now she's doing the same for him?
Every character gets their own love story. This just happens to be Emma's. And she's the main character. Every season has been about her breaking down a wall and letting someone in. Season 1 She told Henry she loved him. Season 2 She called her parents "mom and dad". Season 3 She accepted Storybrooke as her home. Season 4 She told Killian she loved him. Season 5 ... Well, I guess we'll find out. She said herself. "Love is a part of all happiness and you have to be open to that". __________________

Good joke.
To be fair emma did not take violets heart for Hook. She justified herself at the time that it was to get Merlin it was before Hook stabbing. She wanted to get the darkness for her family, Henry, not just Hook with Violet heart. I do think emma turning hook into a dark one was wrong but this is a character that everytime she had planned a future with someone it always ended badly even in familial ways like with Ingrid. Therefore, I understand her need to hold on Last edited by fox24; 11-28-2015 at 11:35 PM |

Dare I hope that means Snow & Charming will actually have a scene alone this Sunday? That would be nice.
And I have been pretty unhappy with this season and freely admit it, but my issue has not been with Emma & Hook getting moments or focus, it's been that a lot of other characters haven't. A&E could easily have fixed that without taking away from whatever CS got. I mean, Snow didn't even get a centric this half, despite it being an arc about her daughter, yet Merida had two centric eps. Seriously, I would sincerely hope that it's very understandable why someone who loves the Charming family and Snowing is rather sad about 5A. __________________

It's about storylines being neglected or being mereley mentioned. The first example that comes to mind is Zelena's pregnancy, what it means to Robin, as an individual and him and Regina as a couple. Them there's Snowing as Emma's parents, and what her becoming the Dark One meant to them, as well as them being forced to believe she had become evil or even how much it hurt them being isolated from her. And, of course, there is Rumple, and the show not even touching on what it feels to him to be freeded from the D.O. curse. That would help so much to understand what both Emma and Hook are going through. And let's not even talk about Belle, since the writers, sometimes, seems to forget she exists, so, it's not really that new. And the real problem isn't so much that Emma, Hook or CS are taking most of the screen time. It feels they are doing that only because the other's are being neglected and merely hinted at whereas we have an entire episode dedicated to 3 guests stars. How many centrics did Merida get? Did she need that much? And don't get me wrong, because I loved the ball, but wouldn't it have been better if on a Regina centric episode we had some time dedicated to the only story she has this half season, which is getting her and Robin point of view in what was happening to them? How hard would have been reducing some of the meaningless interaction between characters or reducing Merida's screentime to dedicate one short scene per episode to deal with this issues regarding the main characters? If the show did that, people wouldn't be complaining that much. It's called balance. You can focus on one central arc without neglecting the other's, and the show has done this before in previous seasons. In fact, it has done this just in 4 B. The main arc was about the Charmings and how far they would go to protect Emma from becoming Dark, and we still got Rumple and his Dark Heart, Regina as a spy and her happy ending, Emma dealing with her disappointment over her parent's actions as well as her dealing with her best friend from childhood being the victim of what her parents did, Hook dealing with his past with Ursula and the list goes on. There was a story arc developped for most of the characters (Belle being the exception as usual , though). |

I'm mostly in agreement with you lianamed, with the exception I don't think Merida has got more than the other guest stars I just think it feels like she got more because her centric didn't have a connection to the others __________________
