In 2014 he guested in 2 BBC shows, Inspector George Gently and a two parter on Silent Witness. So maybe he has some kind of arrangement. His agent might have asked for it in his current contract.
In any case, if they don't need him in OUAT, and there's a new season/film of This Is England, he needs to return there as Harvey. He was in the first one, and had such a baby face. Love him as a blonde!
But I do hope we hear something more than he just filmed one scene with Emilie.
