Kelaine - I agree with what you just wrote. Like I said Hook is smart and knows how to seize an opportunity but I don't think he's great at planning beyond his next move.

Actually, what you said about Regina is interesting and now considering the spoilers that he is filming with her and Smee today I think you may be on to something ...

Although as for Rumple not finding out about Belle I think his biggest flaw when it comes to his plans is he gets too focused. When he thought Belle was dead he kind of channeled that grief into enacting his big plan.

I was just quoting Emma from 3x21 but I think Hook's type is sassy female.

Hook can be pretty spontaneous but i think hes a plannerI do read a fic where Jefferson about Belle. I do think he can plan like with the concentrated dose of dream shade plus I believe he practiced his now I take your life for years. He also knew where Rumple castle but didnt attack cause he knew he would get beaten up. Yes he would get drunk but he was on a island with only guys 200 years lol.

Jane Espenson says the title for epi 16 is not a reference to Of Mice and Men.

I totally agree. I just don't put him on par with Rumple as a planner.

But this is one of my favorite conversations we've ever had on this board! I mean, Kelaine even brought a Hook/Washington comparison to the table. Where else are we ever going to see that???

I think my point can be summed up by saying that Hook seizes opportunities while Rumple creates opportunities.

A nice summation. But no one is on par with Rumple as a planner (with the possible exception of Cora but she was more of a plotter). Regina and Snow are both emotion driven and impulsive. Charming and Emma might pull back for a minute to have a plan but only short term and only when provoked. Otherwise they are live and let live. Belle would be capable of careful planning but unlikely to initiate it. And she too can be impulsive when emotional.

Now Henry might become a master planner like Grandpa Gold. He already has his other grandfather's self sacrifice tendencies and his Grandma Snow's compassion.

SHOOT: ONCE UPON A TIME Cheats on UBC’s Cecil Green Park House with Burnaby’s Overlynn Mansion

Quote:
Once Upon a Time is cheating on Cecil Green Park House at the University of British Columbia today with the Overlynn Mansion in Burnaby Heights. Or maybe it’s the other way around. Both are landmark English Arts & Crafts-styled mansions designed by Samuel Maclure and built around the same time — 1912 and 1909 respectively. The Any Given Sundae work truck was a dead giveaway as to who was filming inside.

‘Once Upon a Time’ Season 4 Cast — Patrick Fischler as Peddler | TVLine

Quote:
Once Upon a Time is enlisting an ad man for its next arc.
Patrick Fischler (Mad Men) will recur on Season 4 of the ABC drama as a peddler, TVLine has learned.
Fischler’s character comes across as well-intentioned but is actually a quick-witted, arrogant man with reckless impulses. He will appear in both the fairytale land and Storybrooke.
Fischler will also recur on Season 2 of HBO’s Silicon Valley as Professor Bannercheck, a very serious academic glowing with self-satisfaction who has relocated himself and family to help the guys at Hooli.

Possible author red herring, I think.

Peddler could be some kind of code name to cover up the true identity of the character.

Yet another Lost alum.

I think he has to tie into the book story somehow. Whether he's the author, the sorcerer, both, or just another apprentice Or maybe he's the author and Hook's Dad.

Strange he was filming with Regina, Hook and Smee.
